Please note that that my local sugar beet mound was previously suggested as a lapland mountain range. Furthermore, another kind contributor to this forum has also made initial arrangements for Eddie the Eagle to use this as a ski slope. Tests are being carried out on the consistency of the Woolworths spray snow, but we have to use it as we got it cheap. please do not persist in plagarising our honest attempt to [STRIKE]scam[/STRIKE] earn money
If you want to assist in lapland Norfolk tho please email us at : bognopper@bognap.co.uk;)
PS my fat white cat is still looking for a role as a polar bear cub at an attraction.0 -

Has the word Bognnopper,or is it Bognapper yet been given an entry on Wikipedia?....
When you said ski slope,I assumed you were referring to that 45 degree angled wall in your last photo-But,i think we need to confer with the Elf and Safety Department, does the appropriate licence exist?0 -

Well the work for reclaiming money is probably harder than putting pressure on an organisation or government body, and yes, we are all happy they have ceased trading (I don't think either one was 'closed down'), but it may be useful if the contributors to this thread are willing to remain available to assist (where possible) people who have suffered financial loss due to these events.
I suspect there is a more appropriate part of the forum for this so I ask those who know this forum far better than I if there is a better place for ongoing discussion to happen- however it would be unfortunate if this particular issue was to be lost in the morass off other consumer issues (all of which, I'm sure are equally valid). Maybe the forum moderators and managers can offer advice as to how to proceed

Bognop is already well established in earlier posts.
Bognap is the East Anglia dialect of the same and the noun Bognapper
refers to a rip off merchant kidnapping money from innocent people whilst up to the ankles in cold mud.
By inference the other word forms are similar to that previous post.
On your next point I have indeed consulted with Elf and Safety and although they said resources were short and they were a* little* pushed at the moment but they would allow the event to go on. That's what they said whatever they try to tell you.
The ski slope you mention is perfectly safe and was tested only a decade ago or so. As soon as the Elves arrive we will test it before allowing our star attraction ride down it to land gracefully in the carefully designed landing zone. We will have cleared the burger wrappers and drinks carton up by then, I can assure you.

I have never seen the word "bognapper" writ anywear, bor.
Does it have something to do with Reedbeds?
In Norfolk,I have heard they "do different",and ten years seems perfectly reasonable.NFN.
Im look forward to reading Wikipedia!0 -
From Daily Telegraph site :
quote:
Mr Jennings denied any connection with the Dorset Lapland. "It is a totally different idea. Our place was not even open when people started taking pictures and now I am being crucified for it."
But Jimmy James, another co-organiser, admitted last night that he had taken the idea for Lapland West Midlands from Lapland New Forest in Dorset. Mr James, who lives in Southampton, said his brother Matthew lived close to the Dorset site and had told him about the event. "I am nothing to do with the Lapland down south," he said. "My brother mentioned it to me and it inspired me to do something similar in Staffordshire."
So that could possibly be Matthew James from here:

Just round the corner from Lapland New Forest then!
You would have thought that after the shambles of New Forest Lapland he could have told his brother it may not have been such a good idea to go ahead with the West Midlands one!0 -

Agreed - those who have lost money, or paid and feel cheated, may have viewed this thread and felt uplifted by what's happened but may still be unclear about what this has achieved for them and how they should now proceed.
For those with Visa debit cards or credit cards should refer here.

to check if they qualify, and if so, to find out what to do.
Even if they may not qualify for some reason such as the amount not being sufficient, then I would feel inclined to discuss the situation with their bank or credit card company and ask them to check if there is any special scheme in place to handle these recalls/refunds.
You could mention that it is the merchant facility provided by the company you are requiring the refund from that has enabled this payment to be taken from you, and it is a major 'scandal' reported on national TV and newspapers. You are a customer and feel entitled to the assistance of your card provider/bank.
Failing that then I would recommend doing what was suggested early in this saga.
People who have bought tickets for the event and are concerned about getting a refund are advised to call Consumer Direct on 08454 040506.Consumer Direct can offer advice and guidance on how customers can try to claim their money back.
I would hope that they may be able to update people as to whether or not recent events have changed the situation in their favour or altered what steps they must now take.
Do claim - and do all you are advised to ensure that you qualify to receive a refund. There can be no guarantee for everyone, particularly those who paid by cheque or cashcard, but there is hope that they too may recoup their money.
If others better qualified wish to add advice or correct me - please feel free.
Oh and cynical-lady I wasn't being rude to you with my 'pompous demagogue' comment, it was a self mocking remark, as I can be a little 'Captain Mainwaring' meets 'Genghis Khan'..0
