I'll keep a watching brief here only - unless more good news comes along, but I must get back to business as I've just won a lottery to add to my Christmas cheer :j
The e-mail is from - and I kid you not.

I just can't pass this offer by.
I'm happy for you, and what is wrong with the addie? After all Reader's Digest had an awards director for many years called Tom Champagne (True, contrary to many suspicions, apparently).
Anyway, I've just discovered that a relative of mine died several years ago in an aircrash in Egypt and miraculously the Nigerian Government Bank have 27 million dolars (sic) of his that I am heir to. I'm sending my bank details right now. When we get our money shall we meet and have a drink? Say a pint of reindeer wee in Lapland Thetford (Where lapland means something completely different....)
Merry Xmas all

Some fantastic research being done on the Moneysavingexpert forums over all this - it's amazing what people can find out. Wonder what tomorrow will bring, hopefully something decisive

Some contributers have referred to Lapland UK (which is not associated with Lapland New Forest Ltd or Lapland West Midlands in any way) as being pricey, Maybe it is, maybe it isn.t, but you get what you pay for, and at least this contractor has a track record and appears to have made substantial efforts to provide what is advertised. This isn't a recommendation from me, as I haven't been there and am not likely to go.
I know someone that went and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Properly organised and "good value" even though they paid £75 each.0 -
MSE'rs should be proud that they managed to get these scams closed down. A pat on the back to all involved!
(However, if my warnings in post #4 had been heeded back in October then maybe the scams wouldn't even have got this far...!)

This is to Edna, or anyone else interested in a joint venture for Lapland Norfolk....
Have you thought about the boot sale site at Banham ??
Already a snow-capped (well, white) covered area, so no gazebos needed.
Ample car parking.
Lots of tacky cheap gifts for the kids.
and a whole zoo full of live animals !!
Is there anything else we need ??0 -

Good work all those involved in getting these scumbags closed down.
I looked at the Lapland site when this hit the news headlines last week. When there was absolutely no "Booty" on display I knew it was a con.
Anyway, I hope those affected get their money back. And the perps get a stretch.0 -
Well I'd go for Bulpits idea (and which I postulated in the dim distant past of yesterday I think) and get a couple of cats, some clip on plastic antlers and some superglue. Oh, and a large box of band-aids. I'm trying to get the antlers on the cats now but it's not easy, they are more like Santa Claws (with a vengeance). Of course any use of this idea will be subject our normal copyright fee of 150,000 quid, up front, paypal only, no refunds etc etc.
If, on the other hand you need something to pull Santa's van (and if it's an old tranny it may be a good back up) there are a couple of miserable looking horses in a field near here (close to a load of caravans) that look ike they could do with a job for Xmas. You will have to ask the owners though.
What about hiring my fat white cat for a polar bear cub? He's distraught that he's had two performances cancelled and quite frankly I could do with a bit of income as I've had a few problems lately.
Oh, and what about that polystryene packaging for snow?
If it is an old tranny van, lifting the engine cover in the cab would gve you access to a built in bar-be-que for heating up that seasonal food.
Just some ideas - if you use them please forward the usual fee, or I'll send my Brothers round.

I fibbed
I'm going to send a posh card and with a stamp too, to make sure he opens it
On it I'll pass on Best Wishes on behalf all the hard working people he didn't manage snare in his internationally condemned project, and from those who will be reclaiming their money from the funds trapped on his account. The UK police, Trading Standards, and Councils along with HM Revenue and Customs and the HMP service too and the children who will forever associate him with the less savoury side of Christmas and also from his associates who will always treat him with greater caution, and experience amusement and mirth at his presence.
I am not impersonating those parties, only passing on their hopes that next year is as good for him as this year, and that all his endeavours are suitably enhanced by this experience.0 -

Given the current state of suspicion keeping off main roads may be sensible. With regards to your short staff shortage, what about cutting off some unmentionables at the knees? They'd be about the right height then.0
