no theres no point complaining on here if its not done in purpose. How do you expect things to improve if you don't tell the management so they can do something about it??

NO, people have every right to vent on here about rubbish service, they do not have to do anything else, despite what you think.
From my own experience I have found 'management' to be as defensive as you are.

Because it's eBay and the seller told me they sent it on fri?

Next reply: Seller is probably lying
My reply: Seller has good feedback I have no reason to think this. Royal Mail on the other hand.....

ooh well is there any point in me replying?
i will reply and shoot you down in flames since you set yourself up so perfectly
recorded delivery is not a guaranteed next day service
so sending it on Friday doesnt mean it arrives Saturday.
i have a post office near me open till 8pm so even if i sent it on Friday it can be way after last collections
or did you mean Special delivery? the guaranteed next day service?
well thats for Monday to Friday(again dependant on last collections)
if you want Saturday delivery then that requires an upgrade in service to Saturday guaranteed

you can check any of my points on the RM site

tbf, no it's not guaranteed next day but seeing as they sent me the email saying it had been dispatched at... 10.37am I will assume they sent it before that? I've never not had a first class recorded manage to get to me next day, so I guess I just got comfortable and assume RM would provide the same service they usually do.

Am also a little concerned as my shopping vouchers I get from work each month usually arrive in the week before payday. Still not here on the Saturday after payday, and the cynic in me can't help thinking the postie has spotted them comin each month and had them for himself :(

    I am a bad person!!

not really. My point is, i'll bet sarah is not a one-off, looking at threads on here there are other rogue posties and looking at the number of people that Royal Mail employ it is to be expected. What does she get from venting here? Maybe it feels better but all she (and others) will get is that they will think that management endorse this which they do not.

How can successful management be achieved when your not informed of under performance?? Management rely on the public to come to them with concerns as they cannot pay for people to follow l posties around, any idea how much that would cost not to mention the destruction of morale that that would cause. All that would do is cause a reduction in service.

Our mail used to arrive around 8.30-9.00. Now arrives before 12.00 - anytime. My gripe is that having spoken to the postman and the delivery office my mail is still hanging through letter box on open view. I got home today from a weekend away and there was mail hanging out of the box. One envelope contained share dividends.

I know custardy has commented on this before.

Have you got a particularly tight letterbox or is this down to the laziness of the postman not pushing the post far enough through your letterbox??

No matter what postmen think they have to protect mail at all times, this should be taken seriously by your delivery office, if its not then take your complaint upwards.
  • Ours is random - on Friday it arrived at 8pm, quite often it has arrived in the late evening but I have a feeling that the postman probably put it in the wrong door and it was the neighbours delivering it.
