oh I blinked and then all these messages appeared.

My payments arent showing up on my online banking yet, my account balance is showing as £128 but then its got available -35.88, so some payments have been claimed but theyre not showing up exactly just yet....

How annoying..... plus from one of my accounts £50 has shown as paid out which is going into that account which is now showing as minus.
Why oh why do things take so long to transfer, its such a pain.... my money just floats in the financial ether for 2 days....
HI CAFCGirl. My bank does this - you won't get charged for OD until your actual balance is negative. If you are having problems with speed of response from your bank account - you could look into which banks are part of the fast-pay system. I know Barclays is - just a thought...

Tirlittan - If I put how much I'd spent on snacks/nice drinks up I'd probably top your total:o - don't know if that makes you feel any better...

TMD - nice to see you back....

Thats given me a bit of hope.... so only when the two match as a minus then?

The transfer is between Abbey and A&L.... both Santander so you'd think they'd be a bit quicker.

Also thought about our council tax, its paid over 10 months not 12. so technically december and january you dont pay anything is that right?
I pay a standard amount into our household bills account so there might be a little surplus in there.... so that would be nice after xmas if thats the case..

As for the lunches, im dreadful..... i love the west cornwall pasty co... not for pasties but they do a cheese and onion roll/pastry thing, and it is so nice, but £1.30 a go so i really need to get that habit controlled...

  • Does any one do the free scratchcards? Saw it on another thread and was just wondering if it's any good, also if any one does do it and wants to refer me (if you get money/points for it) then that would be great.

Is there anything similar that is any good. I do the free clicks on Moneybackmadness but that is it.

    Thanks

TMD I have done one scratchcard and won 25p :T but then I stopped as you have to deposit money.

I am pretty sure you can just deposit £10 then withdraw it straight away leaving your scratchcard pennies in there to build up but to be honest I haven't looked in to it properly. Maybe a job for today.

    Hi Doodledo

Do you win on every scratchcard? I don't mind depositing the £10 and leaving it there until it adds up a bit. Which one do you do? What is Take a Break, I think someone else mentioned it on here but can't remember now as I look at a few threads.

Anyone doing the Sealed Pot Challenge from tomorrow? I've been seeing how much people have saved over the last year so am up for doing it for the next 12 months. I have my big tin at the ready, I have two other tins, one with silver and one with coppers in so not sure whether to open them now or wait until they are full.

I'm starting to feel Christmassy now as well, how exciting, I'll be missing out on all the Xmas do's again as I'm a SAHM but might arrange to meet up with some old work colleagues.

    Hi all

I've just paid off £200 to CC, and stoozed another £600. I'm very excited:j . As I said - I'm in a temp job so setting some money aside and paying off debt is top priority in the current climate.

Scratch cards: St Minver sites eg Ch!t Chat B!ngo or L!ttlewoods or Butl!ns. Take a break (as in the magazine) also do them on-line. Join through a cash back site like !points (consider using my referral link if not already a member) or qu!dco or CBK etc. Then you get cash back on top but you have to wager a whole £10 - but if you make sure you wager a whole £10 over say 3 days, and do the scratch card each day for 3 days that will meet the cash back rules and you will still have at least 30p to build up a balance with. Alternatively you deposit £10, make 10p on the scratchcard and then withdraw the £10...

I do a few. ;) There's a whole thread devoted to free scratchcards on the gambling loopholes thread. You should be able to make £3 minimum per month on each card or approx 80p per week plus the odd free £1 that they send you in the e-mail....

TMD - I just did Take A Break but reading what SH has just written on here Ill do a few more, I don't mind putting £10 in if Ill get it back in a few days or so. £3 a month isn't huge I know but every penny helps in my opinion.

I'm thinking of doing the sealed pot challenge too. I have a giant pig which I got for Xmas last year which would be ideal. Not sure what people save so will have a nose when the thread pops up tomorrow.

SH - well done on your total it's looking very impressive. :T

  • Thanks Savingholmes, will have a go later on this evening, what is your referral link and I'll use that if it gets you some extra money. I'm all up for earning any pennies. How does Stoozing work? Do you just put money away in a savings account and how do you find one with the best interest?

Doodledo - I'll have a look at the Take a Break one, is it just takeabreak.co.uk? I can't wait to do the Sealed Pot Challenge, I'm going to open my two I have here and start from scratch tomorrow, I'm going to aim for £500, I have been saving 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p and £2 coins so hopefully will have a bit of money to pay something off a credit card.

I'm all excited! Have 3 things listing on Ebay and one has 2 bids on it. It is only at £1.46 but it is exciting all the same. I need to get the rest up tonight so I can clear my wardrobe of all the things that don't fit me!
