Payday today - at last. Will make my adjustments. Hopefully the Oz tickets will be cleared when the tenants give me their rent and then I can concentrate on getting rid of the virgin card. My OH has also applied for his back tax (finally) so we will hopefully here about that in about 6 weeks. Still no response from JSA re: his money but every week that passes is another week in back pay. Have no reason to think he won't qualify.

I have now paid off more than 10k since last August!

Hi CMD,
it was great not to do too much in peaceful surroundings.

And that's an amazing achievement, 10K in a year!!! If only I could do that I'd be debt free my next year.

It was easier cos OH had a good summer job last year. We should be able to clear a good bit of it whenever he gets a job but it is looking like it might take a while

You only have little bit more to pay than me, I'm sure you clear it in no time at all. Good luck for OH finding a job as well. Very difficult atm. My friend has been out of job since Jan and still no luck. I hope she gets a job soon and where I live so we can move in together, so fed up with sharing.

Hope your friend gets the job as well! Yeah times are tough at the moment for everyone.

For some reason I can't wait to get down to 14k. It is another mini achievement for me. A strange figure but I seem to be stuck at 16k for about 3 months!

I can't wait to get under 10K, but that will be next year when I've managed to pay back all the interest accrued on my student loan. At least one mini challenge will be ticked off the list when Virgin cc is out of the window end of next month. I'll celebrate a bit then.

Yay to getting rid of the Virgin credit card! I'm not sure I will be able to celebrate too much when I get a 0 balance on mine, as I am hoping they will offer me another deal and then I can put OH's credit card on that. OH's credit card is not included on my overall debt figure, but it still needs to be paid off. So I have 3 credit cards at the moment (including OH's) and can't wait to be rid of them all!

I'm sure you feel the same Tirlittan and can't wait to have no credit card debt!

Yep, not going to celebrate in big style as want to obviously get student loan paid off next. But yes, will be lovely not to have any credit card debt as most of that was on silly stuff.

Where is everyone else today?
It's my first day back at work for a week, have quite a few things that need to be done, but no motivation. I should start looking for new jobs as well. Don't much like it here.

That can be your new motivation - to look for new jobs!

I know, everyone is gone AWOL today!!! I couldn't tell you what my credit cards were spent on, as the balance has been moved around so much. I can guarantee it was on silly things as well. Most likely holidays and travel to fund my wanderlust!
