Hi Shelley - that is so funny. I just had to get a blue dress and wings with flowy bits, so I got a dress, DD had some fairy wings so I covered them with Crepe Paper and then just stuck some strips of crepe paper on the top of the wings so that they flutter in the wind, when she tried it on she looked more like a blue Angel as the wings were quite stiff with wire and stuck up her shoulders.

OH has spoken to the woman at work and given her my name and number so I'll have to let he know what hours I can do when she rings, I would have to do hours when OH is at home to look after DD3, the other two will both be full time in September so I could always find a childminder if I had to, I do know a couple of women who childmind who I say hello to at the school. Am hoping really that I could do it from home but not sure how likely that would be as it's a University.

Will have to wait and see, it's worth a try anyway and would be good to get out and go to work and have my own money to clear my debts.

OH is having to come back from work (he only left at 1.15pm) as he took my house and car keys to work with him (dork!).

That spam button is way too close to the 'reply' one!

Well just back from Mallorca and had a brilliant time. The hotel was gorgeous and had a beautiful infinity pool and we made good use of it!

Have come back with a renewed enthusiasm and motivation and paid off some of my Virgin card. I am getting the 1st installment of the rent from our tenants tonight so I am hopeful that I can pay off the Australia flights this month and then from next month onwards I can once again start making a dent in the paper hat challenge.

    Tirlittan/TooMuch/SavingH,

Sorry things haven't been going well for all of you recently. We all will get there in the end though :)

Hi CMD - glad you had a good holiday.

OH is on his way home with my keys but might have to start walking soon to get the girls in case he gets stuck in traffic.

Need to go to the library too to take some books back, it's only a small library but wanted to see if they had any books on getting out of debt quick.

Had a message on the phone from the woman at OH's work and she said about a temporary job 3 days a week typing up exams (which I used to do there before - well over 5 years ago). I will have to ring up tomorrow and see what the hours are as anything I do would have to fit around OH so it might not come off.

DD2's concert is next Tuesday at 2pm so that will be fun to go and see her, didn't get to see DD1's concert when she was in the Nursery last year as they said you couldn't take babies and DD3 was only a couple of months old but OH went and said there were parents with younger children there so will definitely take her this time.

Hols sounds lovely CMD and glad you're refreshed and ready to get rid of evil debt. I wont let your mention of lovely hotels and infinity pools get me looking at holiday brochures :o

Has anyone read Martin's books? I guess most of its here anyway but it might be a good way to refresh and refocus.

Fingers crossed job works out TMD

Haven't read any books but did look in the library today for any books on getting out of debt but our local libary is very small so might need to go to a bigger one.

I used to like watching that Alvin Hall programme that used to be on TV where he went through someone's finances and helped them.

It is very quiet on here again tonight, is there something good on TV I'm missing?

Torchwood children of earth - fab on every night at 9pm - the aliens want 10% of earth's children - riveting!

I've read Alvin Hall's book on the Money or Your Life, plus the Money Secret by somone else, Richest man in Babylon, Rich Dad, poor Dad and best of all Martin's Money Diet book! Seriously it was the best as it addressed root causes. Alvin was into quick fix solutions, didn't get you on to the best aprs and didn't off money make over topics by chapter in the same way Martin did. Seriously Alvin's book led me to sell my house to clear debt and guess what - I cleared it and created it again. The Money Secret encouraged me to pay off my debt but didn't give me long term strategies to stop recreating the debt.

Martin's book is like a diet where you are trying to lose 2lb a week for a year - slow, steady makes the changes - but hopefully for lasting results unlike Atkins where I lost 3 stone and then put 4 stone back on!

    Hope that helps....
