Hi, please can I join? I would love to be able to do this, I do a couple of other challenges, but they are a few pounds here and there, and more to do with saving money on things, using vouchers etc, would like to do a challenge where I count actual cash and move it to my debts/savings, I already pay £250 a month to my debts so I will have to find £750 a month to make it by xmas 09. It might be doable if I live on a shoestring and get lots of overtime. I won £10 on the lottery on Saturday so only £14,990 to go.

    Welcome Sarah.
The challenge is designed really for those of us who have all the best intentions but need someone to essentially hold our hand or make sure we get things done.
I'm the worlds worst procrastinator! Xmas 09 was for those who feel like they need a date to aim for, but dont feel under pressure to get it done by then... its just whoever gets there first LOL whether that be xmas 09, 2010, 2011..........

Well done on your lottery win as well.

Do you guys do the free daily scratchcards? If not just sign up to one and deposit £10, play the free sc and withdraw £10 leaving you with min 10p.
As long as you have a credit balance you can play the free card daily. There are double cards on sunday and one day during week. Sometimes you get extra £1 for logging in.

Just don;t sign up to too many as they could block your acc

Hope that helps some of you and good luck with he debt busting
  • Welcome to all the new joiners - we can do this!! I'm looking forward to paying as much as I can off my cards.

I now have 104 things listed on my Personal Ebay account, wanted to do more but just don't have the energy. I have one or two bids and have sold 2 items today so that is good, hopefully will get lots of bids on my stuff that finishes next weekend.

My two jars of coins are coming along nicely, can't wait to fill them both so I can open them and take more off the debt.

I'm also aiming to be debt free by December 2009, I had a bet with my bf that I would pay off my debt before he gets his Inheritance from his Mum (long story but he's agreed to be paid out in December next year), I'm determined to win the bet.

I am in the right place then:D

Xmas 09 is my own little challenge, would like to be able to do it before if possible. Always seem to find things to spend on, will try to transfer it to savings/debts as soon as I get it, where it can't easily be got at again. Hopefully seeing a target/total on here will spur me on.

  • Buffy - despite my endless good intentions, deep down I know that I may never list on Ebay again

However in the spirit of do as I say not as I do - you had best go and have a chat with yourself about wasting this opportunity to pay less to the 'bay

*waves to Buffy* Great minds think alike! You need to pop in to the singles thread Buffy, we need updates! Hope you're ok.

Just logged on to internet banking to move £10 to savings, and found they have given me £2 for signing up to paperless statements, so am now on £12. Woo hoo!

me,scales, digital camera and frequent counting to ten!

it took two freaking hours! although I was getting quicker (read not caring) towards the end.
I will do this. I will beat this debt!

    Nevertheless she persisted.
