  • Thanks Doodledoo, it is starting to wear off a bit now!!!

Have a bit of a happy dilemma. I have some savings back home that I thought I couldn't access for another year but it turns out that I can. It is joint savings with OH and it comes to nearly 10k. Not too sure what to do with it. OH wants us to leave it and use it towards a house deposit next year. I want to transfer it to the UK and pay a bit lump sum off our debts. It would mean clearing my credit card and also a bit of the loan. I would just have the loan to pay then. I also thought I could pay the credit card (7k) and overpay on my mortgage by about 2k. Has anyone got any advice?

I have wasted and messed up so many times when it comes to money that I don't want to mess up again.

eurgh..... i think martins advice is savings arent worth much if you have debt, depends though if your debt interest is more than your savings interest as some people have their debt on 0%, and then earn interest on savings.

Soooooooooooooo glad today is over, work wasnt hard and we had fun but everyone was so god damn Grinchy!!!!

    Hows everyone been doing???

  • Hi. Not long now, all 3 kids are now ill with colds as is OH, at least I am OK for now. Still got things to wrap up and OH has to make up 2 dolls prams, that should be fun for him as he's not feeling well, I did say he should do one yesterday.

Hopefully kids will sleep OK otherwise Father Christmas will have a hell of a time trying to get stockings on ends of bed.

  • What an evening so far - daughter 1 has diarrhoea an runny nose and is very pale, daughter 2 has a runny nose and a cough, daughter 3 has a runny, stuffy nose and is whining, it's 7.47 and I have so much to do, got to wrap rest of presents, wash up from dinner, tidy front room, put all presents out, put all stocking fillers upstairs ready to put in stockings, think kids will be fidgety and waking up all night, so a fun night ahead - not! Roll on New Year!!!!

  • It's going to be a long night. Stephanie woke up at 8.15 coughing and was sick, so she's only just gone to bed I've had to change her bed and her clothes, wash the back of her hair, gave her some medicine. Alisha woke up too so is wide awake, will do the stockings when I go to bed if they are both asleep and it doesn't matter if they wake up early, rather that than fall asleep and forget and they have nothing there in the morning.

All very exciting but am glad when it's 1st January.

HI everyone - I hope everyone has a fab xmas and that the kids aren't too ill. funnily enough my DS came down about an hour after bedtime saying he felt really ill too - hope he's okay for tomorrow.

Just found out OH spent £92 on jewellery for me which to be honest I don't like at all. Couldn't hide it and he says I've ruined his christmas. I was also cross to be honest at him spending £92 - when I would have been quite happy with £20-30. Unfortunately I said that to him as well. Not my most tactful moment...

    Roll on tomorrow lol
