Just calculated for my household, and my parents, (both dual fuel) - about the same, 50.00 (BG). Plus a potential cashback of 15.00-30.00. But Atlantic rebate one month's bill after 12 months (loyalty bonus), so I figured its not worth it financially. Then, as you say, customer service... I can manage things online quite well with Atlantic, and their customer service people are helpful if I need to call.0 -
Any company that STILL allows it`s customers to queue on the phone for anything up to 45 minutes (NPower) , Introduces a tariff fixed till 2012 that only a fool would sign up to (in most cases) (BG) and Sculpts it`s prices in a manner that is so questionable its unreal (NPower) can only ever dream of getting people like mines business , in this lifetime0

I too am shocked at the new price increases from this company, particularly the backdated increase from Aug 2008. Where else can businesses backdate any purchase of goods or services after the deal has been done!! I have written to Atlantic expressing my concern and am now looking for a more suitable company to deal with. Is there such a company?0

As already said above I was also not impressed with the letter, however they are obviously within their rights to do so!
There is a small saving to be made for me for switching however I have also found their customer service department very friendly and helpful, its a free phone number, and the bills are extremely easy to read. Its nice to get the 1 month bonus too, as I always forget about it!!
Just my 2p's worth.

I have decided, however unfashionably, to demonstrate my loyalty to Atlantic and stick with them despite potential small savings by switching. Atlantic have always shown me outstanding customer service and efficiency. They may even have me believe that they care. I simply cannot ignore this quality when faced with a chance of saving a few quid; maybe I'm old fashioned.0

I would rather pay £100 more a year than ever go anywhere near nPower again - the most devious, crooked comapny i've ever had the misfortune to get stuick with....their bills are deliberately complex to avoid you picking on on their frequent pricing errors - watch them like hawks.
I'm staying put for now at least...AE Customer service is brilliant.0 -

I choose to leave.
As mentioned in at least one of the other Atlantic threads, I've chosen to change my mind and cancelled my switch to BGas. First contact they told me of a 2 week delay in sending out their pack. Poor show.
On a positive note: I phoned Atlantic and they agreed NOT to back date the price rise, took meter readings there and then and promised to sort the billing out. I did ask to put my Gas DD up by 30% and my Elec DD up by 20%.
So worth a try.:think:0 -

Not at all happy at the back-dated price increase.
Is anywhere else cheaper? Have had Ebico recommended to me which I'm told you won't find on a price comparison site.
Sadly Ebico (I like them cos they were small and not-for-profit) are no longer the cheapest in my area (East Anglia) BG Click 6 has take the top slot, and also Ebico have finally informed me today of the price increase they applied on Oct 2nd!!
