Friday 17/10/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will:
Hi to all the regular posters:hello: :hello: and welcome to any newbies:D . Cold and grey here today but at least it is almost the weekend:j. Off to work now very sparkly and wearing socks with my name on just in case I forget who I am today:rotfl: . Have a good day everyone:D

I walked past the coffee shop this morning and resisted the urge to spend £1.20 on a latte;
I may get delivery of my Berghaus winnings today (which would be perfect as I'm going to be sat at a soggy football match tomorrow;
I've been given a runner rug from someone at work to help heat the hall, not to mention a nice steel Tefal 4 slice toaster too;
P.S. Got home and my 3 Berghaus jackets are here with one more still to come! Woo hoo!!!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

Welcome back Sophiesmum :hello: KTJazz rescued us poor wandering souls yesterday
It is gloriously sunny here today, I'm hoping that it stays like this tomorrow and I can get some gardening done
And I look in the fields now, and check on the animals, are they hiding? Are they knitting stripy jumpers in order to play Where's Wally?
Hopefully a dull day for me todayI shall of course sparkle
Otherwise:- a NSD, if I can avoid the chocolate machine
- housework tonight, stardrops, microfibre cloths and elbow grease.
- finish wrapping the first batch of Christmas presents :eek: Unbelievably, I have done most of my shopping - but that's because we're away at Christmas, and we're visiting rellies in a week or so's time and will smugly be able to leave their presents for them. (We'll get ours in March though :rotfl: I know they haven't realised!)
- chase the bank for my replacement card :mad: (I keep giving up after being on hold for SO long) I can't cope much longer being unable to do my banking -or worse update my signature!
- Brought in lunch, will forage for supper in the cupboards and freezer.
- plan my schedule for the weekend in order to maximise the time I can spend in the garden.
- cook some more apples/windfalls.
0 - a NSD, if I can avoid the chocolate machine

Morning every body
I have- Made a packed lunch again. I actually had breakfast before coming to work too, which means I won't scoff my entire packed lunch by 10am which is my usual trick!
- Broke into my penny jar last night, and counted up £30. I'd normally leave it a bit longer, but I was over enthusiastic in making loan payments this month, and accidentally cleared out my account. Whoops :rolleyes:
- Borrowed The Wire box set (all 5 seasons!) off a friend. Figure that all the time I spend sitting down and watching it, I can't be elsewhere, spending what I don't have
- Still doing well with my personal campaign to give up (or drastically reduce) tea and coffee. Both because it's expensive at work (and they won't let us have a kettle in the office for health and safety) and I find myself far too jittery after even a small amount of caffeine). So, water all day for me now. Cheap and good for me!

Morning one and all!!
Welcome back SM as Olive says, it's good to have the grown ups back :hello:In one day we've managed to get Fay's animals dressed in stripey jumpers.... Today I am wearing orange and red striped socks under my black trousers and I'm sparkling like mad
Accidentally over-quaffed the wine last night, it's work's fault that I needed it, therefore, I have no guilt whatsoever, about bringing my hangover in with me...
Here comes the list!! You may borrow items off it, if you're short of ideas andan:D- come to work
- bought in hangover, breakfast and lunch
- sorted out some carrots for the Captain
- sorted out washing and left piles over the bedroom floor, gives me something to look forward to for this evening
- make a loaf
- bank a cheque
- sparkle in a green light
