Is your job affected by the credit crunch and current economic conditions?

I feel my job is at risk as a direct result of current economic conditions.Conrad...message to Conrad....Gav was going to pack it in.
Because I've ID'd him, can't go into the whole, full-on gossip BUT he came to see me back in 1991?? I can't remember exactly when but do remember where my premises were then....and he was going to just pack it in and get a 'Proper 'job'. Parents etc were all going on about a proper job....they are the academic type BTW.
He and I have never had a 'proper job'...but we apply all the academic skills we inherited into a creative line of work.
I think it's my fault he carried on.
So did I...but, as I had kids, it was always like an add on to motherhood...but secretly, I was always planning The Big One. The kids are big, another opportunity came my way again......and I am wrung out with 'going for it'.
Couldn't post again last night as passed out with creative exhaustion @ 9pm...it's hard to explain, but the brain just gets wrung out after a project or task.
And back to the spunking of 90k....I don't want this to come over as bragging at all but investing is not always as simple as 'Plonk into dead cert, suss out yield, wait for return'.
You know those big glass towers and clubs that sell £100 plonk? No-one buys them out of their own cash....comes from the skim off of others hard earned cash.
In August, we put 2k into the new venture. So far, we have taken 8k out for shop exps..did order, sold, did another and so on........now waiting for chq (please) of balance.
Excl VAT (already paid) but not allowing for corp tax...it has made, clear of all exps....just the costs of my time/skill 40k....in 3 months.
The exps of the next order is in the bank...not incl in above.
Unfortunately, most of the profits are going to get sucked up in the shop overheads....but that's the next task...Mr Greedy, Glass Tower Landlord is coming to the end of his leeching from my labours.
I give it 12 months. Will make the most of it to the best of my ability in that time....Chesil Beach...her I come, in 4 yrs time.
Conrad...do the tracks, send them off...nothing ventured and all that.
BTW...I wrung myself out (again) a couple of months back as a plebby High St chain wanted to grab a bit of Niche Pie....so I delivered suberb, Niche range (my speciality)..and guess what? It was too niche, too avantgarde, not quite what they envisaged....so, 3 styles have gone under my label instead, and guess what?
They are selling out....my gain, their loss.0
