O2 - I no longer trust O2 and have actually cancelled my DD because of it.

pinkshoes is wrong which makes DCFC and O2's mouthy manager (sic) wrong also. Advice is one thing Rab, but patently wrong scaremongering advice is worse than useless to MSE'ers generally and you are now part of that by proxy (they've left you thanks for your apparent support of their incorrect interventions!)
The facts are these: I have made no written notice of cancellation to O2 and nor do I need to. Instead I have received a standard inexpertly written acknowledgement of my intent to cancel including an acknowledgement that nothing further is required of me save for settling the final bill (which if contentious will simply cause red faces - not mine you understand!).
I have simply done three things in relation to parting company with O2 so far:
1. Called them up, told them what I thought of them and requested (and obtained my PAC code)
2. Cancelled the Direct Debit with my bank so the next and last time O2 try to debit money without checking with me first they will have to do exactly that ... Check With Me First (readers will recall that is because I don't trust them).
3. Written about my experiences here on MSE.
Neither 1. 2. or 3. will result in me getting a CCJ, principally because I am acting entirely reasonably. Any further tomfoolery from Telefonica O2 (UK) Limited will, on the other hand, simply see more egg land on their faces via this thread (MSE willing).
I don't think people are debating what you've done but more your attitude towards people that are only trying to offer you friendly advice. Whether it be right or wrong, the fact that someone has taken time out of their day to read your problem and contribute their two cents is enough for you to at least talk to them with a bit of courtesy! I recall you said something along the lines of "you must think I was born yesterday, or indeed you were" to someone who simply offered their advice/point of view about your experience.
If you're simply going to talk to everyone that replies like a piece of !!!!!! then why bother posting in the first place. There's nothing in the forum rules that states that people must post FACT, people will post their opinion, if you don't agree with it why not put it a little more constructively rather than be so aggresive?
No doubt I shall receive a verbal battering now!0 -
I'm really confused, I don't actually see what O2 have done wrong?
Am I right thinking you were getting a discount and now you're not?0 -
I'm confused too, where did my post go saying why you can't just cancel a DD??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
This still going on!?!!?
Where my posts go I swear i posted on here or did admin take them down!?!I like to think I can help but its for discussion purposes only so if I get it wrong please feel free to correct me.0 -

The thread has of course been edited because of various inflammables, (not forgetting those possible incorrectitudes offered by some people, pinkshoes!). We all understand that that might have been on the cards I am sure. I didn't complain, but someone might have, or maybe MSE decided it was verging on exciting/libellous

Anyway, let me just say that I don't think Warnings and Rip Offs is for analysis of complainant's attitudes. Complaints are more difficult than normal customer service of course. Complainants often become difficult and it is their right to present their complaint as they see fit. Turning a complaint into a great sale is a lost art. Labeling a complainant as someone with a bad attitude is just silly, shallow and frankly a mark of bad business.
Claiming a position in the debate as someone offering innocent advice is just asking for trouble isn't it? I mean it is surely like climbing into no-mans land whilst guns are still blazing?
My point is that O2 have lost my trust, they deserved to lose my trust and I think they are making a huge mistake by coralling their offer as one of unilateral impersonal greed above preserving long-term relationships which could easily be spawning fantastic recommendations instead of spewing deadly poison here on MSE. They could have easily tapped me for £200 or £300 for a new handset had they kept me onside. And I would have been happy. I am no burden to their network. I made absolutely no demands or moves to push for a free handset. On the contrary I offered to pay for a handset and also offered them 7 SIMs which I control and pay for all on one account (4 of them new to O2) but they were just totally unable to respond except with a standard £15 per month per SIM offer - crazy!!
Forget the 7 SIMs argument, because actually none of the UK providers seem able to respond to that requirement, but the sad facts are that O2 just acted very stupidly in my opinion, and still no-one has even begun to make a readable case to the contrary here on MSE ... have they?0 -
My post about my issues with O2 has been removed too. Why would that be?0
-
Yes poet I noticed that too, which was a shame. I am thinking babies and bathwater - your original post was err ... robust and fair but also got caught in the crossfire and then lost in the fallout of the superpower's nukes I think
