Could be a good excuse for a diet detox for a while. You'll probably have to eat loads of veggies but that's not a bad thing - it should help you be more regular
I'm not a fan of simple carbs anyway. Try it, i'm sure you'll feel totally different after a couple of weeks.

Rice based pasta is Weasy to find (as are rice noodles) and genius bread is okay. Watch out for oat based products as they often contain gluten (including some raw oats). There are gluten free cereals available. Watch out for hidden gluten in things like icecream and frozen chips.
Switching to more simple meals like protein and fresh veg will probably help.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
I eat a lot more jackets and rice as a side. Quinoa is ok too. M&s pecan caramel bar is amazing but 70p each !

Oh poop, I started Oatibix for breakfast today as usually have Weetabix and thought Oatibix would be a good alternative..Just checked the label.
I can see this is going to be costly!
I see jacket potatoes in my future too, luckily myself and the kids love them so won't be a hardship.. I just need to get creative with toppings, there are a number of other products I've had to cut out of my diet for the 6 weeks so it's going to be challenging.
I will go to a supermarket today to see what I can see, definitely get some flour and cereal and maybe some crackers that I can have with houmous..
Also need to get some rice pudding and plain choc for pud as can't have yogurt either for a while..0 -
Just need to decide now which supermarket to go to, have a large Tesco and Sainsburys within easy reach and a Waitrose too...0

Waitrose have a good selection of "Free from" products. Just remember to read every label of every product you're thinking of buying. It'll seem to take ages the first few times, but it gets easier. Be aware that ready made (and powdered) soups and sauces usually have some gluten/wheat in it. The same for pate, marinades, sausages, burgers, licorice, oven chips, frozen roast potatoes, chocolate bars etc. Waitrose own honey nut corn flakes do not have gluten in them (in the regular cereal aisle). They sell gf oats for porridge £2.99/pack I think.
I cook my meals from scratch as it's easier that way. I use Waitrose gf pasta. They have some nice fresh rice noodles for stir-fries. You can use corn flour or potato flour to thicken soups and sauces if necessary. I use a lot of rice and potatoes and love quinoa.
It's not easy, but it's worth the effort if you're intolerant to wheat or gluten. You'll feel better - I started feeling better within 3 days.
Also, eating out can be a bit of a nightmare, but healthier as well, as no junk food is suitableA lot more restaurants are getting clued up on allergies and intolerances. The times I do go out to eat I'm very apologetic to the staff and they are very happy to help.
And lastly, there are lots of gf recipes online0 -
I make cakes for my son`s work each week and one has to be a dairy and gluten free cake. I have discovered that 1 tsp baking powder can be converted by using 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar and one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda. Also if you google gluten free cakes, there are some really recipes such As Nigella Lawson`s chocolate cake. Good luck!0

Tesco's freefrom cakes are really nice, as are the Mrs Crimbles range. Warbutons make a gluten free version of lots of their breads now such as the sandwich thins and wraps. If you like crisps those teddy bear shaped ones are gluten free.
Try making spaghetti by shredding courgette and tossing in a frying pan with a little oil, salt and pepper then top with your normal bolognaise sauce.
Be aware of gluten in stock cubes as well if you are cooking more from scratch. Kallo stock cubes are ok.
It gets easier just lots of label reading. Good luckLooking for the sunshine after the rain

I don't have to have a gluten free or wheat free diet, but as I'm on slimming world I have researched alternatives to rice on an original day. It came up with cauliflower. You can use it apparently (not tried it myself yet) to make a pizza base. You can also make it into a rice.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0
