School update, my dd came home today and she has been moved from keyword sheet 4 to sheet 12 and moved up two reading groups. So things seem to be happening now. I'm still going to keep up with the school work at home
but at least DD might start to be happier about going to school.
:jHurrah! I've been wanting to ask, but wasn't sure whether it was too soon. I'm so pleased. Hope it keeps up.Time flies like an arrow.

Owlet that's absolutely brilliant, i'm licking my lips just reading your recipes them.
Thanks for the advice on sterilising the jars and it's good to know about using the microwave, thanks Sylvan.
Now as you can imagine I don't buy much stuff in jars but I do have honey jars, so they have metal lids so if i've understood correctly, I won't need the discs. As far as I understand it - but as I said, I am a novice too. I have used lids only and sealed while still hot.

Mum of 4 I see you have meatloaf on your menu, do you have the recipe please? I have tried several over the years but haven't found 'the' one yet lol. It would be great to try a recommended recipe!
Thank you in anticipation!
Once again I'm so used to making this that you've made me think about what I actually use.
You can use beef which still tastes nice but I find when made with pork it's tastes lush and great cold, so leftovers can be used for packed lunches. In an attempt to be be organised and so less tempted to buy crap meals from Mr T I normally make two and double up on the ingrediets but use 1/2 pork & 1/2 beef mince. You could also use chicken or turkey mince and swop the herbs for tyme.
Mix all the following in a bowl and then press into a loaf tin, (if you haven't got one a pie dish is fine but keep an eye on it in the oven as it may not take as long to cook.
500g of mince (pork or 1/2 beef & 1/2 pork)
garlic
2 slices of bread (crust is fine)
onion
some oregano & parsley
Parmesan ( a small handful)
egg
few slices of bacon cut up into small pieces.
I normally cook it for about 30 - 40 minutes in a fan oven.Kind Regards
