  • I've just been to the Bridgend branch and picked up lots of bargains.

All accessories are being sold off too (no signs telling you). Staff were mainly selling them for £5 each. Managed to buy 4 really nice pictures medium size for £20.

Also bought matching 2x wardrobe, 1x 5 drawer chest and a bedside cabinet for £350. I asked about delivery and was able to pay £40 for it all to be delivered on Monday.

Been to Luton store and I have to say that even at 70-80% off they are poor value - mainly down to being ridiculously overpriced in the first place.

EG one kitchen was listed as having an original price of just under £37,000 for a few cupboards and an island. Appliances were NOT included in the price. They were trying to clear it at just under £10,000. Quality? pretty awful.

We knew what we were after....rang the closest closing store. Turned out they didn't have any anyway, so we didn't go anywhere. Saved us a trip.

The Warrington branch has Closing Down written all over it, but other signs say 70% off rather than 80%. It already looks pretty empty from the road.

    Nice to save.
  • does anyone know if any stores in Norfolk are closing apart from Cromer??
  • Went today to have a look. Selling whole display kitchens but most were in the region of £4000.+ And you have to take it as a whole. Wouldn't fit too many kitchens and the worktop would be useless for most people. We saw the white kitchen (Nebraska?) for £1000.00 or £1400.00 in cooker hob & extractor. Great if it fits. We bought it for our last house for about £700.00.
Chairs, tables & beds were not greatly reduced - I guess they can move to another store.
Display items like vases & crockery were selling for £10.00 but nothing great. Went to Homebase straight after and prices were similar if not cheaper.
Don't be fooled by the Sale signs.
