Bazdoo, you got in 'their' before me!!, was wondering why so much detail about the specifics of the ETHONIC ppl buying the radio's & the assumption they will be flogged off, maybe they have families & friends they will give one to, tis the season of goodwill as they say
, anyways at least you buggers all got a radio!!!!!!!!!:)
No one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
can you use an archos or a external usb hard drive with this stereo. I doubt the external hardrive be recognized unless there is away around it but will my archos be picked up?0

ipods have always been able to use USB, its just that they come in Mac format. if you use it on a windows system it has to be wiped and the windows version installed, its all on the disc that comes with it.
as for running it through the lidl radio, no problem, when you set the ipod up just set it as a mass storage device (this lets you put other things on it as well as music). just plug it into the radio and select songs on the ipod.WWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0 -

I'd agree with being weary of this player to be honest, also being an audio enthusiast. Either Lidl are missing a trick with the advertising of this, or it is missing some pretty basic stereo essentials such as RCA's (bog standard for plugging it into an amp/woofer or any other audio device etc) and lacks any info on the power output, frequency ranges etc.
So either it doesnt have any RCAs and has extremely poor performance and Lidl thought best not to mention them, or Lidl forgot to mention them entirely. Either way I personally am slightly worried.
Be weary, if anybody has the exact specs of this device then posting would be appreciated, so that somebody informed could advise you rather than rushing out and buying a turkey. It may be decent enough to play the childrens nursery rhymes, but I for one would expect more.DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society

Come on, it's not aimed at that market - which doesn't mean it's poor! It is to plug into standard wiring looms, and not to appeal to the tiny fringe who want a boombox on wheels. If "audio enthusiast" means "look at me, I'm making a loud noise and a complete exhibition of myself" then you can count me out!
I agree that a figure for power output would be useful - i.e. if it has bridged amplifiers or not. But that's it.
Regarding forgetting to mention things, they forgot to mention it's got RDS, which is pretty useful in a car radio!Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0
