After reading this i think we must be really lucky here.

We have a weekly collection and 3 bins. One normal bin, one recycling bin which takes glass, paper, tins, clothes & shoes and a food waste bin. We also have bags which we can put garden waste and cardboard ( not together ) in. All are free to collect from the council offices.

They will also take as much rubbish as you put out, if the bins are full you just use the bags. I've put out broken chairs and curtain rails which have also been collected. There is a charge for larger items.

The only thing i have to take myself to recycle is plastic milk bottles, which isn't a problem as i do it when i go to Tesco.

I'm hoping they don't go changing things around now.

OH and I live a short drive away from my parents - they're in a different council zone.

They have to recycle religiously or get fined.

OH and I live in a block of flats and as such, have no recycling facilities. We lob all of our rubbish into an industrial sized bin at the end of our street.

Anything the council won't collect seems to go into our communal basement. It's full of all sorts of rubbish, from broken chairs to traffic cones. I think we have students living in our block... ;)
