Alton Towers offer discounted rates to a disabled person and up to two carers. If the person needs physical assistance at least one disabled person must be over 14 yrs, but if the assistance needed is information giving, fetching and carrying, etc then there is no age restriction. The last I heard the discounts were for half price tickets but that might vary, so best to check before you go

Before visiting any venue I telephone them to find out what concessions they give to disabled and carers. These are not usually listed on websites or leaflets.Very often staff at paying in desks are not aware of these discounts either.A few examples are..

Disabled people and their carers can get into Blackpool Pleasure Beach free, provided they don't use the rides. This follows an increase in the ticket price to £20 a person - even for people in wheelchairs, and other disabled people who were accompanying other family members but who weren't going to make use of the rides themselves.
