So many people are posting extra treads, we need a few more board guides, i suggest martins doll and lorweld and flickering ember

these are the names i've noticed being helpful the most.

PS, pretty please search. i do, but dont always get things right, PPS, do youu realise how nasty it is when some of you jump on new posters for duplicate postings? or the ones that post affil links thinking it ok etc You nearly scared me off, lol.

First things first - I posted a non-freebie comment in this thread earlier and I shouldn't have. I now appear to be compounding the error with this post.

This thread falls outside the boundaries of advertising a free offer or website and is not what we should be discussing here. Let's not get too involved in the running of this site (or do so on a different board). Let's leave that for Martin and the board guides.

i have to say it's not just newbies who are slated for putting duplicate posts up, i have been slated too, for the same reason even when i have searched it doesn't always appear....i have been on here a long time and had a lotta laughs, but when you do try and help and get slated it puts you off a little, i must add i also think flickering ember and lorweld should be considered for bg tooas i have noticed that when someone does make a mistake they are NICE about it, instead of being nasty or patronising. :beer::beer:

Just to answer a few points on here...

We love it when people courteously remind others that something's been posted before.

We don't love people saying it nastily, if someone does, please do report it to [Removed by Forum Team] where the forum team (NOT BGs) will take a look.

As long-termers reading this will know, I more or less "grew up" as a MoneySaver on the Freebies board so it's still close to my heart and I want to make sure it's kept the friendly place it's always been. But it's not just up to BGs to do that. They're volunteers, they don't earn a wage from it and we don't ask them to be on here every day.

You guys are the ones who post on here, whether daily or just now and then, so please help yourselves out and try to self-moderate by keeping the place friendly!

I've been using this site for five years and I've only recently found out, by reading someoneelse's post, that searching for the url will bring up more accurate results than searching for a word, so I really do hope no-one, whether a newbie or oldie, is being pulled down for that!

It was me that picked the drynites freebie for the email and I deliberately picked a newer one. (I know it's been available for several years as I included it in Andrea's Freebies, and subsequently the Freebies Freebies Freebies article, which I compiled, several years ago). In cases such as that we do sometimes use a newer thread because if we used the very first time it was posted, from, say 2003 or 2004, people coming through from the email may take one look at the date the freebie was posted and think we'd made a mistake and it was no longer available without even checking (believe me, that happens!)

Finally, I will talk to the current BGs and ask if they need more help with this board and, if they think they do, I'll get that sorted, but please remember the attitude we'd hope for from a BG is one of friendliness and helpfulness without criticism or judgement.
