I would love a woodburner, especially for the kitchen....it's so cold in there.
My dual fuel DD is £108 at the moment, I'm in the process of changing to SP fron Eon, through Quidco of course.

There is a good cashback on that one! Wish i had known about quidco before i signed up for it though...
Friends of ours have a wood burner, but they have it set too far out and you stink of woodsmoke after..another friend has the mutifuel one and it is brill..i would love that:D
I remember when we were little, we had a coal fire, no central heating and a gas cooker..mum would put the oven on and open the door..we were lovely and toasty..only posh folk had central heating:rotfl:

Cripes EL, I won't moan about mine then..lol. Is there no way you can get it reduced..are there cheaper fuel options, could you have a log burner put in or a coal fire?

i have searched and searched but cant find anything cheaper i think it might be due to the ceiling in our living room that and the fact the doors arnt keeping the heat in ...gets annoying between that and the council tax i have a second mortgage

We put draught excluder around everything and made a sausage dog as well for the living room..it is surprising. It may be worth putting an extra layer of insulation in the attic as well...I have done that as well...i think it has made a difference over the year..which is why we were under their estimate

Yes, Taxi, mine's dual fuel. I've got that new double glazing, and part of the loft (tho not all of it, part was boarded when I moved in) is very well insulated. There's lots of gaps between floor and skirting board in the kitchen tho, I need to block those - they'll get done when I get the renovation started, but for now they mean I'm freezing in there!
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Mine is duel fuel as well..the thread echoes..:rotfl:

Well this morning my head feels better, nose is still red and now have a hacking cough..so if you want to join me hacking out a chorus...:rudolf:

Rudolph the red nosed reindeer..had a very shiny nose....:rotfl:

Nothing much happening..car payment went out yesterday, so that is another £168 off the balance. I am thinking that some of this includes an insurance which covers the difference between value and loan if i crash..in other words i am not supposed to lose out..do you reckon i am better getting rid of the insurance now, or keeping it? as i will be paying it all off ASAP...

Oh and mr.B got another 0% card yesterday from Tesco's so not yet sure of limit on it but if good he should be able to get rid of quiet a bit of stuff. He is getting there...:D :xmassmile
Checked my experian whatsit and all looking good on there at the moment..am debating whether to keep it or ditch after the free trial?
Hope everyone has a good day.

Hmm, thats actually a serious question. What's the loan value now? Whats the value value?

I did a freebie trial, and cancelled before I had to pay. Is it something you actually need to keep an eye on monthly? If its only every year or so, I'd cancel, personally.

Important announcement: I'm bored of doing dfw work. Sigh .... I'd like to be going away for Christmas, all of that. Ah well. Have a good one, Bob. xx
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • I will have to look at the value of the car, i have looked on Parker's free one, but i have to subscribe if i want a full one as my mileage is very low..i only work within a 10-20 mile radius, sometimes less and running around locally unless in Manchester..hmm, from what i can gather it has not really lost much..have to think on it..

Sorry to hear you are bored of DFW work hun, it's pants this time of year eh? :kisses3: But you are going home for Christmas and i am sure you will have a good time, treat yourself to a free carol concert or sign upto BBC shows in London, i have had some emails for a few goodies..but it means me getting to London..Doh..slight hiccup there..

I have been away at Christmas a few times and i always say it is not as good as home..but get lured again and then say the same again.

    So next line of chorus,:rudolf:

    Boblet the red nosed reindeer,
    Had a very coughy day
    all of the other reindeers,
    decided they would keep away

    Santa heard her coughing away
    then he came to say:santa2:
Boblet with your nose so bright
what can i do to ease your plight?:xmassmile

That's about all i can think of for the moment:xmastree: :rotfl:

Keep the GAP insurance.IF I could've bought GAP insurance with mine I would've done but unfortunately you can't get it for taxis.I lost out big style in our crash because we couldn't buy it.
