Mumof4 says (you know how children are when they talk about their teacher?......) potatoes take up too much room for what they yield for her. And she (emphasise the she) says she grows more expensive stuff instead as she'd need a whole new allotment for tatties.

OTOH I've grown King Edwards because the greengrocer can't get them cos the big supermarkets buy all there is. Apparently it is lower yielding than Maris P's for eg.

Thought i'd explain. Main potatoes have been great in terms of yeild however the last years i've lost nearly a full crop to blight. If we are to have a good summer then i may grow them after all and grow less squashes. I'll always grow earlies.

I'm not sure what i can do about having the thread moved back, i've had a few pm's from people saying that they thought it strange that it had been moved.
    Kind Regards

Pleased don't feel embarrassed :o i loved your comments it brought a big smile to myself.

Knowing, would you believe over 100 members, now have the plan i thought it a shame they moved the thread but people still seem to be finding it. A couple had found it by reading this thread and someone said what a nice comment you had made.

i wouldn't have posted but i didn't want people to think that i didn't like growing potatoes.
    Kind Regards

[KC waves hand in the air] - mea culpa! I love it. I've never seen such a good use of the computer capacity, apart from a family tree. Thanks all!

It's great when you want to rotate crops for the following year as you can just cut and paste.

But remember i'm in Bristol so depending on where you are you might want to plant/sow things later. Plus due to my polytunnel i can grow plants on the staging a good while and transplant them them later leaving other crops in the beds outside a while longer.

    Hope that makes sense
    Kind Regards

Thanks! I managed to catch the first one, but I haven't seen the second yet. Its interesting that they're seeing the series through the eyes of a Daniel-alike. I love her accent, upper class Brit. The guy who plays Major Lorne in Atlantis was there as a cop, and there were loads of behind-the-scenes names I recognised. What I don't get is that they obviously like Amanda Tapping, and they like her character Sam too. Now, Amanda Tapping is a *really* nice woman, through and through - but Sam became a travesty of her former self during Season 4, and it got worse and worse. These are the people who hurt Sam! I used to be so proud of her - genius, brave, committed. In the end, they were using a soft focus on her the way they used it on James Kirk's woman-of-the-week, it was appalling, and thats just the visible tip of the iceberg. I mourn for Sam-that-was.

Okay, I'll shut up on that now :o but you see how much I restrain my fandom self from posting on here? Sorry to ladle it onto your new thread :o:o

    Poor squizz!!!

Olive - hiya! I've just gone on that link, and I'll be reading it myself....

I so agree about the way she was 'soft framed' what on earth ( or Atlantis) where they thinking:confused: I love a bit of Sci fi gossip, we should have a thread on it..sigh:o I was also behind the scene name spotting as well:rotfl:
