Agencies  In my limited experiance (finance sector) agency workers were just in there looking for the perfect job for themselves - and they'd KNOW how much their client was prepared to pay for the job too. :rotfl: There were never staff who'd been there more than a year, it was an accepted mode of job hunting.

Don't they say that most jobs are filled before they're advertised?

That was true, about the job being filled. I applied for three jobs online with them..one of them actually turned out to be with another agency... " who had an urgent vacancy to fill"

Funnily enough i was registered with that agency, so rang them up and the girl blustered down the phone..obviously there wasn't a job. I think they just apply for contracts with the Local teaching authorities and all tender for ones in School's best match wins.

Was asked to fill an online survey with them about my experiences and how i would rate it..No prizes for guessing then!

Volunteering is great, worthwhile, etc etc etc that all the books about it tel you, BUT, if it increases your blood pressure to a ludicrous level it stops being all those things and becomes utterly not worth it. It sounds to me like it's starting to reach that point, not least because it sounds like there is a very real choice that you will fall out with your friend in fairly short order if things carry on going the way they are.

Glad MrB's lightbulb is still on - I assume in MSE style it's a low energy one?! :D

I agree EH, bob if its stressing you this much you really have to wonder if an alternative volunteering opportunity may be worth it...
