I thought it was the army Taxi..must have gotten mixed up there:rolleyes: I think it will be good for him too as he has been for three interviews and applied for lots of jobs without success:o
I am proud of DD1 as she has had it hard really, getting married, setting up in quarters and holding down a job etc as well as uni work. All character building though.:D

I'd like to read that book! That'd be a good one .... and you write well, Bob.

The thing about the services being a good route for non-academic kids is so true (look at a certain Harry Windsor, for example ...). When I ran a Community Programme scheme for a charity back in the 1980s, some of the unemployed youngsters we took on were desperate to get into the army, but the army wouldn't take them unless they already had a job. So these kids would join our programme for a few months, and hey presto, they could get into the army, they were so chuffed it was lovely. And I'm sure our work helped them with some of the stuff the army's had to do since, of helping civilians in war-torn zones - our programme was about supporting children with mental handicaps.

Hope you have a good day, Bob.

  • What a lovely tale KC, i used to do something like that whilst at college in my yoof, not on the same level of course but we helped out a centre for young adults with disabilities. We used to go on trips etc. Do you know it was one of the happiest times of my life, it was such fun.

  • Bah, bah and double bah.

Well after a strained evening last night (i spent most of it on here to avoid conversation) I checked online banking to find an extra £60 went out on an MBNA card which Mr.B has.. This could be one of two things,

a)He has spent more..when he shouldn't as he has a 0% card for petrol at the moment.

b)Mbna are varying the DD for some reason..i haven't seen his statement..as he hides stuff or shreds it.

c)He has a secret life i know nowt about...which could explain his tiredness:cool:

So what do i make of all of that?

I have just about reached my limit with it all now..how can i pay off stuff if he is spending at a rate of knots? What on.. goodness knows and petrol has gone down, so it beats me. I feel an absolute fool for overpaying stuff now and i am just going to pay the bare minimum on my things ( all overpayments are out of my account at the mo)I feel a fraud updating things when his stuff is increasing..so will put on hold for a bit and just update when stuff has gone out.

I am seriously thinking that the best thing for him would be a debt management plan as he would have to budget then and stop relying on credit cards..all the extra monies we have could genuinly be going off debt instead of him kidding himself:o

I suppose i am saying that out of frustration with it all it just makes me so angry to be constantly having talks setting a budget and he just ignores it all.

    And breathe Mrs Doofus..

So there you have it oh no, i will have to do the bingo now..makes me shudder even more:eek:

P.s one thing i am glad about is i won't be wasting money on a Valentine card, think i would puke:D

Although i could think of a few choice verses.

    Roses are red
    Violets are blue
    would send you a valentine
    but we are through

The days are not long enough
    When i am with you
If you are my true love
    Then life is so poo

If i could send a message
    Then this would be it
    My darling dear hubby
    You are a ....:D

Hope everyone else's day is a bit better than mine although writing evil verses does cheer me up and very DFW.

Bob..just call me mrs D:rotfl: :rotfl:

I was the head honcho from head office, so I saw all our schemes - it was wonderful, kids who'd never smiled suddenly laughed and made eye contact. Loved it. My own adult volunteering was more about campaigning, tho I did lots of volunteering helping people individually as a teenager. How lovely that you enjoyed your experiences so much! I'll never forget mine; the most enjoyment I got was as a teenager at a schools-run volunteer camp, ye gods it was good!

HI Bob, I do SO sympathise re the maddening OH. It is so frustrating when you are busting a gut to reduce debts and they just sabotage it.

On the other hand, your valentines are brilliant. Now print those up and you could make a small fortune.

It's ok, honestly:o ..i just vent on here but feel thwarted at every turn. I don't know how to explain it really as i have made plenty of mistakes, believe me..but i would have hoped to have learned something. This forum is truely an eyeopener and i wish i had found it three years ago.
I think i was trying to keep things seperate and just pay off my stuff and i budget so hard to do so, but in reality i am kidding myself if things like this happen. As with so many folk on here i feel like i am working for nowt..not just to pay the debts off, but for a lifestyle that i am not part of..if that makes sense. This is where all the daft niggly things then take over and i become upset at the tiniest thing..
