Yet I have already answered this question (when put to me by MC) in the Servista thread. (Both MC and ME contributed postings to that thread, and must have seen my reply).

My motives are always purely philanthropical

(Unlike Mark E, I do always try and answer any reasonable query directed at me personally)

I would not normally feel it necessary to make any reply to Mark E’s venomous outburst – indeed some might see a reply as giving his post some respect, however I see that it has sparked some comment from others, hence I will make some of my own.

Firstly, Mark E, I am not making any crusade against you personally – your posts to which I have replied are always in your guise as a “TP Distributor”, and I have been attempting to correct many of the misconceptions that TP Distributors have managed to confuse us with throughout this Board.

These are just some of the points I have managed to clarify regarding T+:

T+ always starts by saying they provide the cheapest gas and electricity – yet time and again this is found to be untrue.

I posted that T+ have a standard letter (from their Mr Wolpirt) which they use which starts by telling enquirers that in their case it isn’t the cheapest – this was to illustrate to all that their claim is false. (This point – that T+ is not always the cheapest - is reiterated in this very thread by more than one poster – including MSE Martin, yet Mark E again insisted in this thread that he was right!)

T+ Staff falsely posted on this board that T+ customers receive cash back which reimburses their club membership fees.

This is not true – there is no cash back from T+, which I managed to get a T+ Distributor to admit.

Another posted that most T+ customers get reimbursed their club fees by way of the annual discount.

I pointed out that you would need to take 4 T+ services to achieve this and managed to get a T+ Rep to admit that the majority of club members do NOT take 4 services, thus another claim was found to be misleading.

I pointed out that the annual discount paid if you take extra services is subject to a claw back should you not remain as a customer for 15 months since either starting the service or since you last received the discount. (Mark E rubbished this, asking where I had got it from – I replied, giving him the exact Condition from T+’s Ts + Cs, but to date he has made no further comment on the matter)

I pointed out the strange Condition imposed on all T+ club members that unless you opt out, T+ will put you on the TPS. (An unusual requirement, when all you want to do is buy your gas/electricity from them). Mark E rubbished this. In reply to his rubbishing I again gave him the exact condition from the T+ Ts + Cs, and again he has not made further comment.

I posted in answer to an enquiry in this thread (remember it is entitled T+ Exposed) regarding how T+ bill customers that T+ collect all energy standing charges in advance. Mark E replied – again as a T+ Distributor – attempting to justify this, so it was fair enough that I in turn pointed out that he had in another thread taken the exact opposite view when discussing energy suppliers taking “up front payments” from customers.

In view of the number of misleading posts from T+ Distributors which we have all read, I did find it amusing (on their recruitment website) that their staff have local training courses available to them, but “you don't have to go if you don't want to”, and thought others might see the funny side to that – so I posted it in this thread (again, remember its title) verbatim and without comment.

This provoked another venomous attack on me from Mark E.

I pointed out the fact that if you make an enquiry to T+ regarding their prices you will discover that instead of just giving you an answer to your query, your personal details and phone number gets passed to an independent local agent to follow you up on. This was intended to make everyone aware that an innocent enquiry would result in a salesman following it up – reputable companies either assert that ‘no salesman will call’ or at the very least allow you to opt out of any follow up – not so with T+, and what is wrong with everyone being alerted to this?

In the spirit of this Board (Money Saving), I aired an idea that prospective T+ customers could club together the £25 needed to become an agent, and thereby share the discount which would normally get passed on to a T+ Rep – this resulted in us learning a great deal about the T+ set up from their Reps who came on to disclose their rewards. (I had previously suggested that T+ was more a “pyramid” scheme – note the inverted commas – than an energy supplier (T+ staff rightly answered this by saying that pyramid schemes were illegal, but never pointed out their’s was a MLM operation (MLM is a similar set up to pyramid selling in that the higher you are up the levels, then the more rake off you receive from the people below you) – as a result of looking further at T+ we now have had it confirmed that it is indeed a MLM operation. Nothing wrong in that, but why try to hide it.

I also factually replied to a poster in another thread (Telecom Plus Pig in the telephone forum) enquiring about the T+ pig. I reported that a T+ Distributor had posted on this Board that the pig wasn’t the best alternative to BT – this after Mark E had put a post up in the same thread just saying how many customers T+ had, and nothing else! This factual post again brought Mark E back to that thread to make another venomous post directed at me.

Mr Edgar – one theme you always stick to is that “At the end of the day, the choice is down to the individual”. Quite right. Unfortunately, without my intervention the individuals choosing T+ would have been doing so without knowing the full picture – T+ certainly hadn’t made clear the true facts as I have. Even now we can’t be sure we have the full picture – you have never confirmed any of the points I have publicised!

Any points of fact I have posted I have backed up.

With apologies over the length of this - I have tried to shorten it but I realise it still is long.

I really would love to know the definitive route for economy 7 .

My usage is 33% but I do not think this is enough to benefit me .

This thread may have more legs as who knows what else there is to expose - (that post was so long partly because of the exposures identified to date were so many!)

Re getting rid of E7. I know of others who have achieved this, but at their expense. (Cost of changing over meter).

With 33% night usage wouldn't you be better off staying on E7?

A little pen + paper + calculator job before the football comes on!
