I looked at Cape Verde but all the accommodation on tripadviser got terrible reviews regarding food poisening etc.Maybe in a few more years when they have sorted things out.
  • How about Lanzarote, 4 hour flight, good chance of winter sun, get a nice private villa with a heated pool. Lots of honeymooners like Playa Blanca where I live. We have lots of weddings here also.

*I have to declare an interest seems its the business I am in but it is a good suggestion
  • I've been to the Maldives 4 times now and I just love the place, it is ideal for a honeymoon. I can highly recommend Meeru Island. You can get further info, reports, pictures etc from https://www.meeru.co.uk

Meeru 4 me too. I was there in April in a Jacuzzi land villa. It really is paradise and the ultimate no news, no shoes destination.
The rest of my life is downhill now after that place, it really was that good !
Another good site is www.meeruisland.co.uk and of course the official site www.meeru.com.

Possibly struggle at 1500 pp though
We booked Emirates flights and accom etc via Key2Holidays.
Less flexibility, but possibly cheaper and maybe a bit of quidco cashback with First Choice or Hayes and Jarvis

I have posted a couple of deals in this post:

I have been to Southern Palms myself and loved it, but this was many years ago.
It's also a lovely time to be in Mombasa. If you're going for 2 weeks you could perhaps add a short Safari trip.
It's a beautiful romantic place to spend your honeymoon...:)
