All a matter of personal choice. other browsers have features that you may find useful.
Have a look at Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Google Chrome. If you don't like them you can always delete them.
There will always be that want to avoid Microsoft products 'cos of Bill Gates' perceived 'world domination' agenda.
Personally I usually use Firefox 3, and use the web application feature in Google Chrome to run G Mail. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Internet Explorer 7 is nowhere near as bad as the preivous versions. However a lot of people prefer to use Firefox instead as it is very customisable with add-ons. Some people also use Opera. Personally I have all three installed but generally use Firefox.
I've tried Safari for Winodws and didn't like it at all. I also wasn't impressed with Google Chrome. It's my problem, it's my problem

There's no harm at all in ditching Internet Explorer. You'll keep it installed on your computer, so even if you want to go back to it you will be able to. Internet Explorer is simply one type of browser, and there are plenty of other types out there.
The most popular alternative to Internet Explorer is Mozilla Firefox (click here), which is my personal favourite.
Other alternatives include Opera, Safari, and the newly released Google Chrome. There is also the a little known browser called Flock, which is actually very good. A Google search of any of these names will take you to a site to download them."MIND IF I USE YOUR PHONE? IF WORD GETS OUT THATI'M MISSING FIVE HUNDRED GIRLS WILL KILL THEMSELVES."0 -
I too use Firefox and I much prefer it to Internet Explorer.0

i believe IE is much better nowadays than it used to be, but I haven't used it in years. Netscape was my "flavour of the month" for a few years, then Opera, now firefox (2) (chrome and safari just don't 'do it' for me, but they are installed). i do have the ie tab addon for firefox, for those especially badly written sitesUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

99% of the time I use IE - a lot of the code I write has to be guaranteed first and foremost to work with IE (sometimes firefox too) - so I couldn't be without it.
I think the best browser I've used so far is Chrome. It's noticeably faster, the "wandering" status bar is great and the amount of screen real estate you get is fab (plus the download thing is cool) - but some important websites (hotmail most noticeably) won't play with it out of the box and a number of others look a bit "funny" - hopefully in time these issues will be resolved without Chrome becoming too bloated.
Firefox is fine, but have never really come across any good enough argument to switch from IE completely - I use it for mapmyrun.com, which was written for firefox and doesn't work on IE...aside from that, everything I ever wanna do works fine in IE, so no real motivation to switch, I guess.0 -
Yup yup, it's Firefox all the way.
