Please could someone pm me about a Gap job - it's in the stamp place but involves asking them to check a form and send it to a third party. My concerns are

    1) The notes seem to say that Gap will send me a pre-completed form to use, but they've sent me a blank one.

    2) When I hand over the form I also have to hand over proof of id and there is a chance the member of staff will accept it (the brief says they are not supposed to, but they might).

Well, I'm not too happy about this - I would say in my defence that I didn't ask for this job, they rang me up and asked me to do it. I didn't know what was involved when I accepted. Can someone please advise me about exactly what is required for this job? Oh one more point, the assignment notes are not displaying correctly on my system so I can't even properly read what I'm supposed to do.

Hi Scaredy, I presume you mean the driving job. The form is blank but just fill it in as per the instructions. You need to fill it in on behalf of a third party, not yourself. I was confused by this at first but what GAP don't tell you is that the form is one for people who have phoned the driving place to report a change of address, then the driving place send out the form for completion. The MOS won't keep your ID, they will just check it & verify it then send the form. They are supposed to reject it immediately because the form has to be handed in by the applicant. If you PM me your email addy, I am sure I have the job notes on my computer. It is probably the easiest job I have done. HTH

Can anyone help me? I am usually able to do these myself....but need help with the TNS test questionnaire for registration. I've read, and re-read the handbook, but can't find specific info on the following

1)When is the exception to the rule, when a questionnaire should be completed on the site of an assignment?
2)What part of the questionnaire is subjective?
3)It is important to attempt everything requested on an assignment. Why?

Any help, especially with the first one, would be gratefully appreciated.

    Hi

It was a while ago but think I put:
    1) When stayiing in a hotel but whilst in your own room
    2) only where your opinion is specifically sought
    3) That's what the client has asked for and if you don't give it they won't pay you

    Thank you so much.....xxxx

    1. There really is nothing about that in the booklet! The only thing mentioned is if you have missed or failed to complete one section of the questionnaire, you may revisit without drawing attention to yourself. It still does not say however, that you can actually complete the questionnaire at the location......Gawd, they don't half make it confusing!!

I did my first one of these last week - and really worried that they would hang onto my Husbands passport! I decided that if they wanted to keep the ID then I would say they couldn't cos I'm going on holioday soon . In the event,, I needn't have worried - as soon as I said 'could they please check my Husbands form' they said he had to come into the shop himself so they could verify it was really him. They didn't even look at the form! Easy money really.

Hi steph, just read your posting from yesterday.Im in the ne of scotland too and re has been really bad since jan , nothing available at all .I log in all day at work so I know im not missing any.Hope things pick up next month.
  • Steph I think it was TNS and the hotel room bit would have been in the info pack. I only think that because I would never have thought that up on my own!! Perhaps they did not send you all the info.

I'll see if I've saved it anywhere if you like?

Not all the answers were in the info though

I found it all very confusing to start with infact still do... just dont worry so much now as I'm more likely to do it wrong if I worry. My notes always seem to ask for so much more than the report requires.

Anyway everyone on here is so supportive I think if I've got this wrong they will let both of us know

    Good luck:D

With GAP, if an expressed assignment is showing as 'Approved' does that mean that they have no immediate problems with it? Or is there a chance I'll get a query still?
Always a chance. If you havent heard from them within a week I'd say you're in the clear.
