They just pop up like normal, but they're normally snapped up really quickly.

I've seen it a couple of times before but the dates clashed with his job as he works most weekends. It was just luck that it popped up to be done on a night he was free :)
Here I go again on my own....

A bit quiet on this thread so I thought I would fill in the time by mentioning a quick tip for Gapbuster...

It's very annoying to search for locations on Gap as the website is so sloooow. Add the following bookmark to your browser and as long as you're logged in and the session has not expired you can quickly view all your relevant locations whilst still bypassing that stupid News page...

As you can see you can add in any locations (maybe a max of 10). For those that span two or more words, replace the space with "%20". It saves you some time and frustration when you're looking for jobs. HTH!

(In case you're wondering that's not my area!)

I've been doing this for ages and currently have 33 places in my list so it's definitely not a max of 10!

    Hi all,

I've just remembered that GAP requires the results in 8 hours, so I'm over the time limit by 8 hours, i.e. I did my assignment 16 hours ago, does this mean I won't get paid for this job?

I think the 8 hour thing is a bit of a joke TBH. I mean, what if you do a breakfast job or morning coffee then have to go to work and can't do the online stuff until the evening? If I am late they usually send me an email reminder, and then I still get a few hours before it is deleted.

I genuinelt forgot I was meant to be doing a petrol job on Friday, and I got the overdue email on Saturday morning, but luckily I have been able to re-schedule it for this week!

thanks nads, I have a query on Gap. I put in 3 or 4 areas that are shopwing and when I search those areas no clients come up? Has anyone ever had that before? I really want to do my first job for them but they don't seem to have any!

Your employer will deal with your employment tax. When you do your self employment tax return, you add on the details of your employment and the tax you have already paid, then work out if you owe more or are due a rebate depending on your total income.

I'm assuming you have your personal allowance tagged onto your self employment. If the employment work is regular, it might be prudent to have your personal allowance on your employment otherwise you'll pay tax on all of your employment earnings. If you are doing less than the personal allowance in mystery shopping, you'll end up paying too much tax but will get a rebate at the end of the tax year.

Ah, ok. That makes it a bit clearer now - thank you.!

Gap don't seem to be too strict about this. I quite often do a job first thing - say 9am and don't enter it til I get home from my day job at gone 6pm or later sometimes and have never not been paid for that reason.
  • In reality GAP seem to give you 24 hours, however after this they seem to sack you or execute you!!!

Thanks Nads, Tractorgirl327, josie and jonno1001 for the info regarding GAP.

As for the casino jobs, I did one on RE within my first two weeks of starting Mystery Shopping. I think someone must have put it back and I just happened to randomly catch it. I didn't have many points at the time as I think about 50 so I don't think the points matter, I think it's just a matter of checking the site at the right time. Good luck in getting one, as Becles said it's a good night out especially knowing that you'll be reimbursed for the money you play. We came out £40 better off that night.

Whenever I've seen them, they've been on short notice, (a couple of days away) so not sure if that's usually what they do, or whether similarly it was because someone had put one back.
