I'm not picking these up after what happened to Becles either - I think that as mystery shoppers we often pay out money up front and then are needing to do the job without errors to get reimbursement or payment. Very occasionally we make an error and don't get paid (like me with my pizza job the other day - sob!) so why would we stack the odds against ourselves and risk not getting paid through no fault of our own?
I agree - the message might get through if we leave these jobs untouched.
Anyhow I've got loads of others this month coming, any one else got a full diary?
(And I got a cinema trip yahay been trying for ages!)Gala bingo wins £70!!! mystery shopping earnings: £0
MutualPoints 2898 STP £20.50 Tesco clubcard points £950 for summer 09!0 -
ooh, missed that - what happened?
I think it was Becles. The member of staff in the shop was horrible and refused to let her actually handle the item - so she put that in the report and then they refused to pay her because she hadn't handled the item.
It doesn't reflect well on the MS company if they treat their shoppers like that.0 -

Did you get my cinema job???? I wasted too much time trying to read the brief and see what they reimbursed you for, and when I clicked to accept it I was too late!
Just kidding, I know it was my own fault!
Actually I have quite an empty diary at present - been pretty quiet for me. Actually I've just had an interview for an xmas job in a shop and it was weird because she said 'we get mystery shopped'. Not by me, they don't! Never seen that particular shop come up, but thought it was funny!0 -
Thanks SC. Will steer clear of them as well...0

My diary is so very empty
I have got about 3 jobs booked for the future, I mean how naff is that????
But.....I am impressed with TNS, I did a load of the calls for them about 10 days ago and my pay slip from them shows they will be paid for 4/10 of them tomorrow :T
On the subject of Kern, I did accept one of those jobs but the brief is worse once you read it, so I emailed back declining it - so I bet they are well impressed with me :rotfl:Sealed pot Member target £200 - No. 151

Hi all, i'm new to mystery shopping (been doing it for just over a month) and i'm a bit confused about the tax thing. I've read through everything already but i'm a bit dumb when it comes to things like this, can someone please tell me exactly what I need to do next? I've got a part time job which I pay tax and NI on already so i'm not sure what forms I need to fill in.
Sorry for being a pain, theres just so much different information and forms I just don't know which one(s) apply to me??????????
Hi Kelly
please read the opening page it does give you a very easy explanation on what to do. Then contact your Tax office. The guy i spoke to was v v helpful.:A0 -
[Just realised, I need to shop around for car insurance this week, and I switched my home insurance just a few weeks ago. Will these activities have involved a credit check? In which case, I think maybe one more is not a good thing. I will need to apply for a new mortgage in about 4 months, so want the record to look as good as possible.[/quote]
I did that free credit check that Martin recommends and found that an insurance company had done two checks on me after asking for a quote. And I hadn't asked to pay monthly.0 -
:T Just got allocated my first cinema job. I applied ages ago and forgot all about it until today. Anyway, its a trailer check I have to do, has anyone here done one of those that could tell me a bit more about it? Obviously I will be checking that a particular film trailer is being shown but how many screens do you have to check? Also, have you ever been lucky enough to watch a film afterwards? I do hope there is some kind of perk because I just looked up the fee which will barely cover my travelling expenses but it does say that when you have done a few visits it goes up a bit, though still not much. I would be interested hear from anyone who has done these jobs already.0
