Does anyone on here also belong to the mysteryshoppersuk.com forum??? If so, is it worth joining, and can you get me in please?

    Many thanks...

Hi SC - it's my policy (and I know a load of others on this thread do to) to not do any credit check jobs unless they're seriously good payers. The problem is us normo's have no idea what damage a check does and it's better to be safe than sorry. When I was applying for my mortgage a few years ago, Halifax did about 8 checks on me within a few days and it must have crippled my rating!

Your insurance won't usually be credit checked btw.

    Timmne :D

Thanks for that Timmne. I must admit I'm feeling a bit anxious, so perhaps best to give this one a miss.

Any advice on doing assignments which require a credit check? I know if you have a lot done in a short space of time it can have an impact on your credit rating. On one hand I think this is ok because I don't anticipate applying for anything else for the next 4 months. On the other hand, I don't know if it's worth the risk. Would appreciate any advice or comments please.

Just realised, I need to shop around for car insurance this week, and I switched my home insurance just a few weeks ago. Will these activities have involved a credit check? In which case, I think maybe one more is not a good thing. I will need to apply for a new mortgage in about 4 months, so want the record to look as good as possible.

Some insurance companies will credit check you if you opt for the monthly payment option (as opposed to full upfront one-off payment at the start of the contract)

do you know which company does the whitbread pubs  now or who does any pub meals as the only meals i can find are the fast food ones for GAP
also any hotels:rotfl: /supermarkets done by which companys
i am fed up od doing just banks and garages

Maritz/QCS used to do Whitbread pubs. I did them for a number of years, not just for the meals but the beer too. I did four pubs in one night with a mate once, meals in two of them with a pint each, then two pints in both the last two pubs. My memory may have been a bit hazy by the end of it.

I reckon so... it seems like quite an involved job for $25 doesn't it...?

My email says $40... but I think the fee is academic anyway. I wouldn't be happy working for them after what happened to Becles (was it Becles?) Maybe everyone else feels the same. Hope they get the message then.
