Hi, first of all Congratualtions on doing your first job, one thing i remember to do is read through the notes and write down or type into you phone key things to look out for.....that way you can check as you go in/come out.....also rememner to make a not of left/right/opposite/time in/time out... as i usually forget this :o

Hope this helps, you will be surprised at how much you remember,if you have to fill the form in when you leave the shop...But not close, maybe in a coffe shop, whilst everything is still fresh!!

    Good luck!;)

I did my first gfk job yesterday as well and what a complete nightmare it was - really bad customer service it was escpecially from a large chain.

so even though the visit took 20 mins it took me aggggees to type up the report and redo it to try and make sure that it fits the cryteria that they are looking for. the pay is good but hope they dont now come back and start picking willy nilly at the comments i made

I've had to reschedule my gfk job for tomorrow as loads of snow and school is shut! One more day to read the 11 page briefing notes I guess!

  • SACKED BY GAP

I know I have moaned about Gap in the past but this takes the biscuit.

Just got back in from doing a Shell (I know and I am not editing it) assignment to find a generic e-mail from Gap stating my services are not required anymore. I am owed quite a bit of money too.

I am furious and have fired off an e-mail and have attempted to call them at Basingstoke.

Not worried about working for them again but do want what I am owed.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers Paul

I did wonder if it is worth leaving a break to get paid upto date every once in a whial incase they did this as the costs soon build up.
  • One thing that miffs me about the underground shops is I can never find them in Liverpool, Manchester, Chester and The Wirral; I did one once in Liverpool but we have several branches in town, one near me and loads of others I can get to but all I can see are the North Wales ones. :(

The underground sandwich shops are split between RE and GAP, no idea why unless they are both running trials to see who eventually gets the contract for them all. I've done a few in Liverpool for GAP, not city centre one's, all outlying areas. Never seen any for Liverpool or Manchester city centre, I think GAP have those areas though.

why do you think they wouldn't pay you? i have been paid everything i am owed by gap every month.

surely they don't sack people to avoid paying them?
  • If you search the internet you will find instances where they have not paid people after sacking them.

Bear in mind that I have done nothing to warrant being sacked and was actually completing an assignment for them while they sent the e-mail, I won't get paid for that as I cannot express the assignment.

They are a poor company and I should have stopped working for them once I realised that.

I hope GAP get the contract as the amount of work you have to do for the RE one is ridiculous for the fee they pay. I won't do the RE ones on principle. Plus GAP pay you the full reimbursement even if you spend less;)
