I had a business and it folded a few yeas ago, but I have paid NI class 2 for a few years even though I earned nothing and I still pay it. Is it an okay option to pay Class 2? I wanted to as I did not want to have a gap in any benefits like pension etc and assumed I would earn again? I got self asses tax forms sent to me a couple of times and I said I was not earning which I was not at all so they've stopped coming now. Now I am earning a bit with mystery shops since June - what do i need to do re tax? Do I ask for a form? Am unsure - am I already classed as self employed since I pay the NI Class 2? I registered as self employed way back on the phone to some tax bod as was intending to earn money but that did not work out - is that ok?

Can anyone help me with this as am a tad muddled? I would be very grateful for your help
I'd say pay it. I do, because it might come in handy.
A friend of mine who is a fittness instrustor and was working as self employed part time was paying it regardless. She just managed to her get maternity pay from it.
So it is worth it I think.

Aww, it's not that bad is it? MK is a lovely place to visit.... Just wondering as the Think 21 visits in MK disappear very quickly now so the company must have a new shopper in that area. Whereas they used to phone me and offer extra :p

Can I just ask, are you always this smug and patronising?

Yes he is, I referred to him as a naughty swear word in recent times.

I would advise you to look at the ignore user function. I find it useful.

Blindman oh how I agree with you, At least you tell it like it is.

I think you all know how I feel about RE. If all MS companies were like them we would be paying to MS.

And as one on the forum who is usually the joker I have to say Mimi I have no
sympathy for you. Because despite this you still name RE as your no 1 MS company.

I got an email from RE a while back letting me know they knew what I was saying about them on this forum as they knew now the name I use with them which is not the name I registered with them.

At least those of us who have had the guts to refuse their ridiculous scenario of purchasing hay fever tablets have got our reward...they are now in the new wave of pharmacy visits letting us purchase what we want.

Did they warn you or just say we know what you are saying (and we agree we are garbage).
  • I am up north (Teesside) and it seems to have gone really dead this week and last. Just getting paranoid because I am having no luck finding a 'proper' job and really need the cash!

PS are you red or blue?

(I'm red... but stuck in exile in the industrial wasteland of the north east )

Yes! Come on the mighty reds!

No Ltd it was the sneaky wording of Dear ****** also known as *****. I did 3 pharmacy visits this week and got a phone call yesterday querying something ( how unusual !!!) saying Hi ***** the name I am know by which is how I sign my name on PM's as they don't appear on the forum. It could be one of the RE staff post on here and purposely PM'd me way back when I did thousands of PM's in response to an appeal for tips.

Guess what their pharmacy jobs have suddenly changed. This week you could spend £5 on anything you wanted ..now you must buy a cold remedy.

    Cheers
