I signed up for RE about a month ago and still haven't had anything come through apart from pubs which I don't like doing.

With RE you are on probation to start with and from memory, I think you have to do a pub job before you get offered anything else, so you may have to grin and bear it - do one pub job, get off your probation and then you'll be offered other things.

I know the first job I did for them was a pub.

Just thinking about it, I'm surprised Gap don't make you do 10 burgers and 10 chickens before you get off probation!!! Sorry, prob shouldn't have suggested that, they might get ideas!

I've only recently started MSing. With RE you have to do one job before you can pick up any others. It doesn't have to be a pub job, but it might seem like it if that's all that are available :-) I have my first job lined up with them, but it's not a pub job. It was a little annoying that I couldn't pick up a different job before that one is done, though, as there were some others that I'd have liked to have done, but disappeared before I phoned them!

I am with RE and for months there were only pub ones (and budget pubs at that), in the end I picked up one to see what the SUnday Roast was like, this was my probabtion job. After I had completed the paperwork and been approved my probation ended and the floodgates opened for the good jobs. This is my experience and may be a coincidence but it does make sense to me from what other have said also. May be worth doing one pub and seeing what happens.

Thanks for your fab post on the bookies tizzy. :T I managed to get one - all the ones in my area were gone but I got one for when I am going to be at my Mum's. I have been in a bookies a few times for the annual grand national lol but I am not confident in them. I was planning to do a quick trial run in a different bookies next time I am in town to give me an idea of how it goes.
have fun everyone, you never know, some of us might end up being winners

I've tried this and even if I select every single city available it says I am not eligible to complete jobs in this city - any ideas please? Is there a probation thing with them too?

Hi, you really need to be quick with GR as as soon as juobs come up they are gone in a flash!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I had got an email and logged on....it was for two banks...i clicked one to confirm one of them and when i went back to get the other one it had gone :rotfl: :rotfl: i imagine it is the case "Fastest finger first"......somtimes there is a delay from when the email gets sent out and when they post jobs so i usually check the website throughout the day!!

    ;)

I have had this happen to me a few times. I now believe that it isn't someone else beating me to it (though this does happen, too, of course). The GR website says choose the one closest to you first because others may become unavailable once you have taken a job. I think they might only want you to do one branch of a particular client, so once you take one job, the system automatically deletes the other from your list of 'offered' assignments.

Also, someone commented on problems with searching on Gap. I have been doing search by location for months with no problems. Then I went weeks and weeks finding no jobs. Someone posted on the alerts thread that there were new jobs so I did a search - nothing showing up in my area, in fact my local towns weren't even listed. So then I searched by client and suddenly I could see jobs in my local towns! I thought it was just me, but maybe it's a glitch with their system.

And finally, I did my first RE job before Christmas, expecting to see hundreds of new jobs once I was off probation. Well, frankly, I don't see any difference between the number or quantity of jobs on offer now, and the number and quantity on offer before I did the job.

With GR, if you select a bank, the other(s) will go instantly as you're only allowed to do one at a time.

Do you mean visit to other banks or to other branches of the same bank?

I've taken 2-3 branch visits one after another for the same bank without any problems.
