Your personal allowance for tax is £6035. You only pay tax once your income goes above this figure. If you're just doing "a few tenners here and there" you'll not pay any tax at all on your income.
However you still have to register as self employed, either pay NI or claim excemption and fill in a self assessment form, just to tell them no tax is due!
If you do want to do it, see the first post which explains it all. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Ok, thanks. I will sort the inland revenue issues out first.

About GAP again - I'm a bit worried as I've got a couple of restaurants allocated to me, however I have shopped the same branches last time. I assumed that they would just be automatically cancelled if I tried to request them (It's happened before where it just gets rejected straight away) but these ones have gone through with an email confirming it.
Is there a chance they'll deallocate these from me? And/or sack me? :-S0 -

I had a similar thing with them, but I got a call before the due date saying that I was the last person to go there and so I had to be removed, they then promised to sort out a replacement assignment for me which they duly did.0 -
Hi
I'm new to mystery shopping and just completed my first assignment with Retail Eyes. It was for a £5 fee, £5 for drinks and needed to buy two drinks. On the assignment sheet it says "Do not ask for a receipt for your drinks. When completing your report please select No Receipt Given from the drop down option in Section 8" .
This is fine with me, HOWEVER, I can't get past section 6 because in Section 6 it asks me for the amount spent and the receipt number. So, what do I do ?, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks0 -
Can you not put N/A in for ther receipt number and then put in how much your drinks came to even if over £5 as then you will get the maximum spend back.:A The toughest form of mountain climbing, is getting out of the rut! :A0

Will it accept a comment such as "No receipt required". If not try entering 000000. RE staff are usually really good if you phone them with a problem. HTH.0

If you are just starting msing now then sort out your NI first. You only have 3 months to register with them and, if like most of us here (i'm guessing), then you'll likely not make enough profit to need to pay NI. Therefore you can sort out your excemption.
For tax you have to tell them before 6 Oct 09 (if starting before 6 April 09) and they'll set up your SA record and issue you a return to complete.
So say you started today.. the return wouldn't need to be back before 30 Spet. 09 (if you complete a paper one)0 -
Hi
I just wanted to share with everyone how vile Gapbusters are to work for.
I very successfully completed many assignments for them, and even did a few favours for them when they rung me up.
Then, purely by mistake I made an error with one of my assignment papers, and when the guy rung me from Australia, and I tried to explain myself, he asked me whether I had finished "Ranting" in his words, and then told me he no longer wanted me working for them.
I tried to send a complaint via their UK office, but no-one replied.
Lots of other very nice companies to work for, so screw em!
Just thought I would share
How nice of him. Had it been me I would have slyly commented "Are you grumpy mate cos yer crap at cricket now and us Pommies are gonna win the Ashes back this year.":rotfl: And me a Scot too but I love cricket so I support you lot v Australia.Clique member no 1.:D0 -
I did a MS for BARE at the end of November.
With Christmas and everything I forgot about it but I realised this week I still hadn't been paid for it.
I logged in to the website and it stated I was paid on 19th December.
Well I requested they pay me by Paypal and I have definitely not received the payment. I also checked my bank account to check and no sign of my 15 Euros.
I have e-mailed them requesting I now be paid but am wondering if anyone can confirm about how fast or slow BARE are to pay?
Thanks.0
