  • Thanks for that.
As the price of the item was at least £3 cheaper than the reimbursement, I was hoping to get something else  oh well!!

It means your not get re-embursed for extra items. but if you see some thing you like ou can buy it at your own expense.

Some times they only want you to buy product x and and nothing else. Otherwise your fail the assingment.
  • Hello,
I have an RE assignment where I have to buy X. It says in the paperwork that I can buy extra items *at my own cost*.
I was wondering if I will still be covered for items up to the reimbursement limit, or do they mean I cannot claim the cost for ANY other items except for item X?
    Hope someone knows! thanks

I've never had a problem using the remaining allowance for extras (when it says you can buy extras). ;)
  • Absolutely. You can always claim up to the spend limit on RE. You do have to buy what you are told to buy, but they have no way of checking what else you buy, as you are normally told NOT to get a receipt for drinks.

This does mean that if you are out with friends, they can spend the extra on drinks and you can watch how they are served..........
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
  • I bought a book for £2.99 to write my mystery shopping figures in. Can I claim this on expenses? Also, does driving to a mystery shop come under commuting or business in car insurance?

    Yes, and
    Business

    ;)
  • So as I only have commuting on my car insurance, if I used it to get to a mystery shop and had an accident I either wouldn't be able to claim or tell them that I was just out shopping, and therefore shouldn't claim petrol or car parking on my tax return? I'm not sure if putting business on my insurance would make it alot higher and therefore not worth doing the mystery shopping?
  • Just been offered a bingo job but I am too scared to take it!

I'm a 28 yr old female...would I look really out of place going on my own? He offered for me to take a friend, but I don't have anyone who'd go.
  • I'd love a bingo one, are you allowed to PM me and tell me which site you use? You don't have to sorry if that's a rude question.

Bingo jobs are great. I was so surprised when I saw how many people were there on their own. It was my first time too last month and the staff were really helpful and showed me what to do and it was brilliant because I won £250! I am a 40 yr old female and it was really good fun, they sat me near the caller so I wouldnt miss anything and staff came round every now and then to make sure I was okay. You never know your luck!

With regards to car insurance it seems to depend on insurance companies, and you also have to bear in mind the assignment notes on many of the jobs.

I use commuting on my insurance. I dont take any paperwork with me that identifies me as a MS, I make all notes on my phone.

Commuting is travelling to and from work, so as far as I am concerned, and luckily my insurance company agree, I would be ok if I had an accident anyway as my work commences when I get to the location.

If I did lots of shops a day, or a week then I was told it is possible that business insurance would possibly be needed, that would be assessed by them if necessary - I only do 1 or 2 a week max.

Also, most of the notes I get inform me that travelling expenses will not be paid as I am expected to do the assignment as part of my normal shopping trip, this means surely its not business?
