    Thanks for the replies guys.

The MS company is GFK, and it was for a product and service and I would have been (albeit got out of it) an immediate buyer I suppose, so I don't really feel right filling out the form as the questions would all be "No they didn't ask me this etc', when really they had no chance to. I'm gonna ring them first thing in the morning and see what I should do.

I'll let you know if this is my first and last MS! :rotfl:

    Thanks again!

got my national insurance sorted, I've been told to ignore the bills and just send back the small earnings form that they are re-sending me as I never received the first one

I have one other question, I think I am going to have to pay very little if any tax when my time comes for it - I started Mystery Shopping on 1st September 2008 (that was my first job) therefore does that mean I won't have to complete a tax return until much later this year?

Your first Tax Return should be issued this April. I believe, if you submit the form online you can delay it until January 2010. Or you can submit the form any time sooner if you want to.

I've just been invited to apply for video mystery shopping jobs, but they only want them at 6 locations nationwide for that firm. I tend to think it's something you progress to if you've been with a firm a while and maybe done good reliable work for them and live within the right radius of where they want people.

Alternatively, I may just have an inflated ego and everyone who works for that firm got the email! :rotfl:

I put mystery shoppers in to facebook a while back and it found quite a few people (shop assistants) that don't really like mystery shoppers - quite an interesting read... lol

I have a friend who's temporary contract in retail has just been terminated because a mystery shopper described him as 'a bit blunt'. His manner is business-like but not at all unpleasant. He just isn't one of those pally-pally types. It just goes to prove that one bad word from us can lose someone his job... that's why shop workers don't always like us.

If this is true then it is really a very unfortunate result. I feel it is very important to not point out the staff as in any way incompetent unless the staff was quite rude or showed total disinterest in serving the customer.
I did a sports shop once where there were 5-6 very young staff who spent all the time I was in the shop basically flirting with each other. Nobody approached me for ages. That is downright disinterest in customer.
  • We were in a major electricial store last weekend. we went to the till to make our purchase and the girl looked at us scanned the item told us the price, took our money and said here's your receipt. That was it not even a smile. My god dont I want to write to their head office. I wish I was doing a job on that store on that day.
  • Has anyone got an email address for RM I am submitting some work for them and I have noticed that they have not up dated their dates on their system as it only gives me 2006,2007 and 2008. I thought that we are in 2009 now, lol
