In Holland we have Mysteryshopping as well. It does not pay verry well
you can't make a living just by mysteryshopping
Hi Achte and welcome to our forum. None of us here do MS'ing as a lucrative living. More of a bit of extra money as most of us love shopping and it is nice to earn some money while doing so.
The headache bit as you see at this time of year is with the tax return. I should imagine it is the same in Holland.:beer:Clique member no 1.:D0 -
Just spoke to someone at GAP who called me there to check about an assignment am doing today, so I thought I would ask about the bookie visits and he said he thinks it will now be FEBRUARY that they are back!
I'm wondering if they've either lost the contract or that firm have just been hit by the credit crunch and stopped doing ms'ing?
Happy new year all - just got back from the frozen alps and it's not much warmer here!! No jobs in my ms diary so hoping a few start popping up soon!0 -
Hi all,
I've just started MS'ing (actually today was my very first MS), I goes to the store, hangs around as no-one approached me, and then when I finally spoke to the guy, he told me that the product wasn't in stock and that I should come back after Tues when he would go through all the details with me. I was cut short and didn't know what to say, so just came away with an appointment to go back next week.
I'm worried now as I'm supposed to enter my assessment today - I rang the helpline number and have left a message as there was no-one there. Anyone got any advice for this newbie as to what I should do now...?
Thanks in advance

It kind of depends on what your assignment notes told you to do. If it was, for example, an electrical shop, then chances are you would be expected to be given all the info you needed today, so you would probably need to complete your report saying this is what you were told - and cancel the appointment to go back as that's not required for your assignment.
If, on the other hand, it was, say, a banking job (not very likely on a Sunday!) then the notes may tell you to make an appointment and submit the report after the appointment.
IF your assignment notes stated that you should enter the shop, make a product enquiry and then report back on stuff like whether the sales person seemed knowledgeable and/or tried to push the product warranty - then it's the sales person who is wrong, not you. You just need to fill out your report saying this is what you were told - that's the kind of thing the MS company need to know.
All of this depends on what your assignment notes say, so do read them thoroughly. Which MS company was the job for?0 -

It's a bit late now, but if you're in that situation again, I'd try to get the assistant to talk about it then and there, if it would be appropriate (sometimes it isn't: part of the scenario might be that you're an immediate buyer). Say you want to talk about it with your partner or something similar.0 -
I had a similar problem with a well known electrical store.
I was not approached or offered help for 20 minutes so walked out in disgust. I completed the online results stating what had happened and rating them 1/10. The report was accepted and I was paid in full.
Just fill in the results honestly and you should not have a problem. I have found RE to be very good at accepting all reports as long as everything is detailed.0 -

Thank you owlet. I for one had a good time but am again sniffing and snottering with another terrible cold. My 3rd this winter. This is a record for me.
I could do with a mystery shop in a top class private hospital at this rate.
I am one of those sad anorak types who studies the temps and strangely poor England has had lower temps than us so far. In Glasgow we have had none so far.
Happy new year to all.
Have any of you tried video MS'ing. I am doing a training day on it next week. I know it seems a bit sneaky but the staff know about it.Clique member no 1.:D0
