Tizzy, I am S/E and I jsut save bus/train tickets and use those as proof of expenses incurred.0

Tizzy, your post did make it seem like you were going to claim fuel allowance not ticket cost, but I agree with you about claiming mileage just once if you are doing more than one job in the same town on the same day I only claim one lot of mileage/ticket costs.
PS- Hope your igloo isn't too cold
TNS CAR JOBS
I can see some car jobs on TNS now but not sure if they are new or ones that have just appeared on my account late? (I think they only require one visit tho so I think they may be different ones to what everyone was talking about)Sealed pot Member target £200 - No. 151

Does anyone know about claiming mileage?
I know this might seem a silly thing to ask, but if I dont drive but still have to travel to an assignment, can I still claim mileage? If so do I use multi map or something to work out the mileage?
TIA
Hi
I'm not having a go, but the Tax Office do workshops for newly self employed people that explain allowable expenses, and give you the necessary documents to enable you to keep accurate records for tax purposes. They are about 3 hours long, quite dry but very informative.0 -
Princess Leia my igloo always seems too cold, even my dog is tucked up in her white igloo quilt just now! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Ok, I think I can safely guess from responses travelling expenses / mileage is not claimable as a non driver, using public transport.
I just wanted to check, so I wasn't claiming for something I shouldn't be, the same as on the other hand I wanted to check I was not missing out on some thing I could claim for.
Thanks to you all for your responses.:A The toughest form of mountain climbing, is getting out of the rut! :A0 -

Have sent you a PM.
On a separate note, is anyone out there in Macland who might be able to help me with this native speaker thing on Bare? Firstly I couldn't read the guidelines, so they kindly sent them as an email attachment, but now I can read them, they are all geared up for PC users. I don't even know if I have a bloomin' microphone!
I had expected the native speaker test would involve ringing up and making a recording over the phone - not on the computer!
Seems idiotic to me anyway. They rang me up out of the blue a couple of weeks ago and asked me to do some calls for them (which I've now done). Doesn't that prove I'm a native speaker???0 -
Tizzy, from Flickering Ember's reply I took it that you can claim for bus fares.0

Of course it is claimable!0 -
Fragglefan the airport auditing jobs on my page are airside, so you need to be flying somewhere, such as on business or holidays to get through to airside.
Be careful to check if job is landside or airside beofre excepting, especially if your not flying somewhere!
Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure so didn't take any, but would have loved to have done them if I could have!0 -
