Ok, DisplayPort.
Is this what will supersede DVI in the future?0 -
Maybe, maybe not. Can't really say one way or another at the moment..0

Not a great deal, I know Apple are including it on their products and there's a handful of graphics cards with the options.
If you're thinking of factoring it into your monitor purchase, I wouldn't even consider it..0 -
i would recomment a samsung synchmaster - look for them on play.com0

Though when i saw its only interface was VGA it was an instant write off, but maybe good for some..

Questions
Would a good quality 22" be better than a sub-standard 24"?
Technically what would have to be better on it?
I base comparisons mainly on viewing experience, meaning, the bigger the screen the better the experience, am i wrong in thinking this? meaning, could some other factors, for example, high contrasts, actually provide a better viewing experience than a larger screen?
thanks0 -

YesTechnically what would have to be better on it?[*] Quality of wiring
[*] Quality of picture processors
[*] Quality of manufacturing
[*] Quality of colour reproduction
[*] Quality of screen
[*] After sales service
[*] Software
[*] Cheap panels are more vunerable to screen bleed
[*] Dead pixelsI base comparisons mainly on viewing experience, meaning, the bigger the screen the better the experience, am i wrong in thinking this? meaning, could some other factors, for example, high contrasts, actually provide a better viewing experience than a larger screen?
A bigger panel does not automatically give you a better viewing picture.
What is the budget now? The screens you've linked to go all the way up to £300, which is a far cry from the original budget. My recommendation still stands for a good quality monitor that's under budget, however if you're going to increase this up to £300 then there are better panels available.
You need to figure out exactly what you want to spend and some back, otherwise you're just frustrating everyone by not taking on board the advice given so far.0 -

Ok the budget now is £200, and i was planning to go with a 24" monitor with that but of what you say is true, then i guess that it would be a better idea to get a smaller screen.
Sorry for your frustration, i am just trying to exhaust all the possibilities.
Thanks for your help.0 -
Ok i have bought this monitor, just waiting for it to arrive:
http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/26%22+Arianet+Widescreen+TFT+Monitor+Piano+Black+with+HDMI+%26+DVI+?productId=34348
Its seemed like a good deal to me and i cant see the disadvantage (DVI & HDMI) ,
And i guess the majority of you will say it is so cheap because it is a TN Panel but as many other people have observed before me.
We tend to sit in front of our monitors : ) . Are there other drawbacks of TN's?
But regardless, what would you say will be the other drawbacks of this monitor opposed to a high-end monitor?
Does anyone have any experience with this monitor good or bad?0
