emily I am a secret brass band lover lol. It stems from my childhood when we had the Miners Picnic every year and brass bands would come marching into town. They had competitions, a parade, stalls and a funfair. It was the only time we got together with some of our relations.

Very quick flying visit just to say hello and I hope you are all ok ((hugs for vanilla)) sorry haven't gone past this page as if I do I'll stay here all day and get nothing done. I went to a friends this morning and ended up helping someone in a bit of a financial mess, which has taken a lot of time but worth it to see someone who was in tears smile again. It'll be ongoing support I think but she's got the tools and a plan now which we've worked through. How do I end up doing these things when I'm not a financial advisor or anything? Anyway from there had to sort something else out, this time animals, hmmm, jack of all trades here with advice when it comes to badly treated animals....

I suppose it's no secret that where I lived previously was a very low income area, ex mining villages, some people I have kept in touch with and when something goes hiccupy I get called in for advice usually..they can't afford professional advice and have no idea who to trun to for support. Those on benefits, some due to hardship/disability rather than being idle are facing as tough times as the rest of us because the cost of living going up massively and benefits haven't but they lack things like the internet to look for advice as they can't afford it and the nearest library with facilities is a £4 bus ride away which they just can't afford at the moment even if they are fit/well enough to travel.

Ok well now I need to do some paperwork for something else then get ready for the meeting this afternoon. I'm looking forward to this one as I have been aware of the focus group but not taken part, it's about revising the way the council get information out to disabled children's parents about support, services etc which they are crap at, and they know it!!

    Argh!

I will try and catch up with you all later on, DPs off to York this evening for a meeting (and he dares moan about my more important :D meetings!!!) Anyway, must dash, got to get a washer load in aswell as try to vacuum before I go.

    Have a lovely day everyone!
One day I might be more organised...........

Thanks for all the hugs and hello's, i think the problem with getting bugs and colds is down to the weather and the damp house but i got a dehumidifier(sp) and it's taking out over 20 litres a day:eek: but i see an improvement. As for getting the house done the builders are now just landing up to the house and asking if they can do quotes for us, so much easier:j and hopefully the house will be done soon.

Hubby just back from getting the chainsaw fixed so think we could end up doing that most of the day instead of seeing my sister.

Lil_me thats great what you do for people, your an amazing person.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

    Afternoon all

I've stripped and remade my bed. Two loads of washing out on the line. Dusted and vacuumed all the bedrooms and cleaned all the mirrors. Vacuumed landing. Dusted and vacuumed living room and right through downstairs.

DD home today so I got her to go up in the loft and tidy things up (DH has been up there ;)) and put up a couple more things.

Helped her with some paperwork for the flat she is buying.

    Peeled potatoes for dinner.

Think that's all. Hope everyone's OK.
