Marble chocolate and orange cake
50g plain dark chocolate melted.. cooled but not set!
125g butter
125g caster sugar
zest of one orange
2 eggs beaten
125g SR flour
2tsp orange juice
1 tbsp cocoa powder- oven at 180'C/350'F/GM4
- I use a 7 inch cake tin.. or a 1lb loaf tin.. lined with whatever you line your cake tins with.
- Cream butter, zest and sugar until pale.
- Gradually add beaten eggs
- sift in the flour
- add orange juice
- divide mixture into 2 even halves
- In one half mix in the cooled melted chocolate and cocoa powder (and ahandful of choc chips if you feel the need!)
- Blob tablespoons of the mixture into the prepared tin alternate the blobs and swirl a knife over to fill in any gaps and marbles it a bit.. don't go too mad though.
- Bake until cooked.. usually about 40 minutes
- Dust with icing sugar then cocoa powder.. EAT!
- If you aren't greedy enough to eat it all, it will serve 6..
I'll ask them how they feel about freelancing for cake :rotfl: You'll probably get a better response than I do to overtime  Anyway, recipe please, this one looks like a useful addition to my repetoire (chocolate ones generally seem to work best - I got £60k added to my budget on the basis of the last one)

Sorry this is a late post but have been REALLY busy today. Had visitors this morning, went grocery shopping in the afternoon and then had to set up new telly with hubby. It looks great :j . The other good news is that hubby is being admitted to hospital tomorrow to start dialysis :j:j:j:dance::dance::dance:
My aims for today are to finish setting up the telly and carry on cleaning the bathroom.
Hope everyone is well0 -

Now they've just got to get rid of the ones lower down in school and I think all children plus the majority of teachers will be happier!
Tia, email received, thank you, will let you know later if I manage to get any stuff to work, still need to see how to work the things and typically the boys have misplaced their game thingies again, will find them and get DP to have a look with me later.
Right, well not much more done apart from other shopping (stuff that is cheaper/can only get elsewhere) filled DPs car and put some more laundry away. Tipping it down with rain so got wet collecting DS2 from school, going to make his tea then take him to Beavers. One day I might be more organised...........

I've done a bit of catching up today, and am pleased by the kitchen, but lost interest in the livingroom! I did vacuum, and declutter though, and threw away three things from the hotspot pile, which is very slowly shrinking (paint dries much much faster than this hotspot shrinks!)
That's about as much as I have managed today.0 -
