OOoo post has just arrived and some hotpad handwarmers I ordered yesterday from Firebox have arrived :D I had a voucher which paid for the postage cost so I didn't mind and it now means that DD and I have a set each which means we'll be able to go for walks now :D Even better though is that there is a £5 voucher in there for Waterstones :D:j:j

Gryphon - this is what I've done since my last post:

    Located all used crockery/dishes
    Loaded DW
    Emptied bins
    Emptied recycling
Stored confidential waste (work & personal, to go to work for destruction)
    Emptied hoover
    Hoovered mattress
Turned mattress (top to bottom rather than side to side for a change)
    Hoovered other side of mattress

You see? It looks good this way :D

BTW - I'm amazed how clean my mattress is now... when I first started, I didn't really think about it until the day I did it just after I'd emptied the hoover, and was horrified by the amount of stuff that came out. Now it isn't really noticeable, which presumably means that in the first couple of weeks I got rid of several years-worth of dead skin & dust-mite poo... (I had hoovered it occasionally before this, but obviously not enough)

    Afternoon all

Denise - are you baking yet? Hope you feel better today.

Did two loads of washing and hung it out. Then it rained so it's back indoors now. The sun has come out this afternoon though so I might try again.

Went to B&Q to get paint ready for when the bathroom is done just so it's in the house waiting.

    That's about it.....
  • Just occasionally my brain works before I do something!

Standing in the queue in W H Smith with envelopes, app calendar, diary etc when I remembered that I have a 20% off voucher valid next Saturday.
So I walked round putting everything back:j

Lovely day here so off to scoff a sarnie then out into garden.

Still feeling bl00dy awful but unfortunately the magical cleaning fairy doesnt come by my way so have-
Done dishes and S&S'd the kitchen
Cleared kitchen table of all detritus and given it a scrub
Picked up everything in LR and kitchen that shouldnt be there and returned it to its rightful home
    HHI
    Stripped bed and washed sheets
DW has just finished and needs emptied
Boxed up my old phone to sell to a colleague
Filled a black bag with crap
Will just take my hoover for a walk then will go for a nice hot bath to try and clear my head.

Still have no voice so tonight will be fun at work:rolleyes:

Have had a major blitz in the living room...
    • hoovered sofa (taking all cushions off)
    • moved sofa, hoovered back & underneath, wiped skirting, wall, socket, plugs and cables
    • wiped down outside of corner cupboard
    • wiped radiator, pipes & skirting underneath
    • emptied bookcase, moved it, hoovered dead things:eek: from underneath it, wiped skirting, wall, socket, plugs & cables
    • wiped outside of bookcase, and shelves
    • moved all other furniture, hoovered underneath, wiped furniture & replaced
    • wiped curtain poles
    • wiped patio door frame
    • Made lunch
    • Ate lunch
    • Listened to Moneybox on R4 to see whether interest rates will go down...
Scary thing is, when I got my dyson (January) I was horrified by how much dirt it picked up, and relieved to see that this reduced over time. However, today I decided to use the mini-turbine head that I usually use for the car... and there its nearly full!!! I'm hoping its full of carpet fibres, but I have a feeling it's mostly dead skin cells and dust mite poo, as it looks like the stuff that came out of the mattress.

The only things in the LR that haven't been thoroughly cleaned since I joined this thread are the big bookcase (floor to ceiling) and the top of the corner cupboard (I'd have to take the stuff off and decide what to do with it :o )

My next plan is to get the laundry in, hang some stuff out to air, empty the hoover  and get the rest of the downstairs floors done

    See you later... :hello:
