That's good to hear Flower ...mind you I'm of the opinion that any crash you walk away from - basically that's enough...since a friend of my sis had her near fatal one...and subsequent amputation. Like I said...if you can walk away all to the good. I am not, however belittling your injury please don't think that, what I am saying is what is really important is that which cannot be replaced...your health and strength because, when it comes down to it all the compensation in the world can't make up for that. Probably hearing about that young rugby player who has travelled to Switzerland and taken his own life because he couldn't bear to go on, paralyzed from the waist down...I just look at my two kids, in the rudest of health, bright, sporty (goodness knows where THAT came from, I am a slob) and, as always, I acknowledge that I am blessed.

Now I never said anything to Avvinabacca...maybe if I had he would have stayed! So I am 'acknowledging' (good word that) Cardifftom. Especially as have forgotten his username.

I changed all the beds today and have washed all the bedding. Then I finished my patchwork up to what I need to have done by tomorrow, so I'm all organised. DD has orchestra in the morning, then DS has a party, followed by a stint for cubs on a stall at the Lifeboat Fair, so I'll be running around dropping off and picking up, so I think I'll give the weekend chores a miss (well, why change the habit of a lifetime? ;):rotfl:)

I was walking down the stairs this evening carrying yet another tub of washing destined for the wm, when I slipped on a fleece blanket which my LO left on the stairs. I'm going to have lovely bruises on my upper arm and lower back!

Right off to bed with a coffee and a book (and a couple of parrots for my headache I think). Have a nice weekend and see you all next week.

Oh, by the way Nicki, good luck with the job. I'm sure as you are already doing it that it will just be a formality.

Oooh, I worked on a refinery a few times Valli, loved it - 400 men and only 3 women... BRILLIANT!!!

Your compulsions are .... **tries to think of a word other than scary that does not upset valli** ... ** fails miserably** ... scarey! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I know Valli, which is probably why I got a bit teary on the drive home - always scares the bejesus out of me anything like that because I start thinking of what could have been, not seeing the kids again, ect... mortality eh, I never like looking it in the face. So sorry for your sisters friend, I know a few friends who have been in fatal/near fatal accidents and my friend is a fireman so is often telling us of things that happen (cheery guy! ) but it really makes you think...

Oh, and I don't think you are belittling my accident at all, always take what you say as a good thing, not a personal dig...:D

Valli - we need to encourage the men **some of us are still looking for one ** not scare them off ;)

Seconded... Valli's already got through two, so I think she needs to give the rest of us a chance :rotfl:

Flower... kitchen is looking lovely. It's only taken a year and a half... and I moved the doorway, took down the ceiling, took the floor up, ripped everything out, moved the gas, water, drain & electrics. It has bamboo floor & worksurface, white painted (by me!!!) shaker-style doors with brushed aluminium knobs, my 23-year old black glass Neff cooker and now dark grey tiles (half a tile all the way round, with more behind the sink & hob). I'd take a photo... but I've just realised... I don't appear to have a camera :o
