    Hello everyone,

I've hovered around these boards but never actually posted. DH and I got married April 2007 and started ttc immediately. Thought we'd cracked it first month as no af but then also no bfp either! Anyway long story short and all that no af until after I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumour, have been given medication to counteract the tumour and af returned in April this year. So have really only been able to try since April this year and so far no luck. Been temp charting and looks like I am at least ovulating which I was worried about so the trying continues, trying not to get too stressed about it but I'm 36 in January so feel the clock is ticking!

It's so nice to find a board to post on where we're all in the same boat and going through the same emotions and we can sound off with each other. Although DH does want a baby he's 5 years younger so doesn't understand the frustrations of time!

  • Hello again all!

I just wanted to know whether any of you who came off the pill when you started trying for a baby missed the "first" period or if it was really late??

I finished my pill and had reckoned that I would be due on last week but there is still no sign of it... I have done a test and it was a BFN?!

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Mad

I suppose because I want a baby soooooo badly I worried somethings wrong, but without saying anything my mum said yesterday 'don't wait too long to try as you don't know if you might have problems'!!! No reason why I should have probs (other then my weight but I'm working on that ) but its worried me all the more now! Sorry, I'll shut up now! Any help gratefully recieved!

Without wanting to sounding rude to a newbie (I don't want to scare you away, honest :o ) none of us on here thought we were going to have problems when first starting TTC.
In my family there are only 3 women (with me being one of them) who have had trouble with conceiving and up until recently I was the only one who had knowingly lost a pg.
I come from a very big family of seemingly very fertile women so it was a shock.

Well, I never through I'd have trouble. All woman on my mums side had no problems - my mum had 3 children, my aunt had 2, my grandma had twins and her mum had 6 children, and a set of twins in there! They started having children in early-mid 20's. On my dad's side, all women had children early - before their 20's, no problems reported there either. Apart that my aunt couldn't breastfeed due to lack of milk and both father's sisters had to have wombs removed later on (sorry if tmi...). But they all had at 2 children each!!!!! And now there is me - trying for over a year with no luck. It does come at a shock after you had no luck for the first few months, especially when since childhood you were told you will probably have twins due to family history!!!!

I got that told to me endlessly too as my Grandad (mums dad) was a twin but none of us (grandchildren) have had twins so far :D

To add to that, not only mum is one of the twins (my grandma had twins), but also OH's dad is a twin! And all I want is to have 2 children, but not at the same time!!!!!! You are cheated out of the second maternity leave and it is not MSE - as you can't recycle the stuff!

I know what you mean about having one at a time. Hubby jokes with me that it would be just our luck to have triplets or more all at once

Of course I would be grateful to have any at all but 3 or more at once?!? If I get a choice, no thanks, I'll have them one at a time :rotfl:
