Offensive just like some people might think of you using GOD in that sense and calling someone WOMAN! From reading some of the replies you leave i get that you are offensive with a overbearing opinion.
But that could just be me...
Accept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.0 -
Depending on your buyer's age & background, she could have been brought up (as I was) with the view that poxy was a swear word.
Because the F word & even the dreaded C word are accepted as part of normal conversation by many people nowdays, it might seem hard to understand that a great deal of people aged over 40 were brought up in families that considered words such as poxy or bloody as foul language.
I still feel so guilty when I stub my toe & utter the word s**t.
I'm not in the corner for your buyer by any means, but just wanted to point out that there may be a valid reason for her having taken offence at your use of the word. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Like someone above has already pointed out, some people are just oversensitive."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0

When I was 11 I called a teacher poxy and my mother told me off for swearing. Then she had to explain to me why - as previous poster said implying they have the 'pox' (std).:snow_grin
I don't mind people saying God but I object to JC but I wouldn't berate them for it unless they had wound me up.

I can understand why "Poxy" could be considered offensive if used to refer to a person, but I can't for the life of me figure out how anyone could possibly think it a swear word when used to describe an inanimate object, which is incapable of literally being infected with a disease.
Even mild words like "sh*t" are usually identified in the dictionary as "vulgar", or some similar label by which the reader can recognise them as "naughty" words, whereas "poxy" is not.
Using the word "God", or even "god" as a profanity rather than literally, on the other hand, is often considered offensive whatever the context.
I remember as a child I was taught to use the word "pump" meaning to be break wind, and I thought "fart" was a slightly rude word, but when I went to a new school and used the word "pump" thus, the other pupils honestly had no clue what I was talking about!0 -
i can't believe you're all so blazenly spouting the P-word
i appreciate that some people have different levels of tolerance, and were raised in different times/climates (social not tropical)
but let's show a bit of respect for one another at this magical time of year.
Now if it's all right with you sons-of-!!!!!es, i'm off to bed
joking sorry but couldn't resist:o
