Did i swear to nasty ebayer?

Oh, this never ends! Awfulest ebayer this year now wants to report me for saying poxy!! She says i swore at her by saying poxy(i said "im hardly going to steal a poxy £8 when i have £50 auctions being sent in postal orders!").
I looked poxy up & it says something like small & insignificant ie. she lives in a poxy house. I often say poxy .I asked OH and he says his mum doesnt like it(she also thinks the word fart is rude though). Is poxy swearing??? Should i start worrying about the wrath of ebay????

    Oooh, good word :D

I wouldn't say poxy was swearing. She's probably annoyed cos she knows she's in the wrong and is trying to wriggle out of it by making up stupid complaints.

I use poxy all the time - its not swearing. I never ever swear (no honestly, I don't) but use words such as blooming, flaming and if I'm in a really bad mood I have been known to call some-one a git. If some-one used poxy to describe something, I'd think it was small or tiny. I can't believe someone would get upset using that word - they must have a poxy brain!

    Very good!
  • Poxy is an insult, not a swear word. I'm guessing you know this, but it originally meant somebody who was infected with the pox (syphilis).
