So what your saying is that some Norton files are left over that you want rid of.?0

I dont know ?? I suppose so..yes. !
When I tried it using the built in reg editor with windows, the help section told me to enter (this line it gave me) (start / run/ blah/blah /regedit) it didnt work.
The windows I'm using atm is 32 bit. The error message comes up as 16 bit , the help section says you cant edit one from the other.
If you goto start / run / and type in regedit, this takes you to 32 bit registry ?? I think. I need to goto 16 bit ??
so, I'm not sure what to do now ????????
tbh..I havent a clue what the hell I'm doing here ????

ok.....I received an email from symantec.
They told me to download their program that removes unwanted norton files.
I have searched for the files manually, then deleted them.
I used the program to get rid of the ones I couldn't find.
Now, I get a different error message when I try to install the driver exe program.
It now says :
16 Bit Windows Subsystem
SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers. VDD. Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid. Choose close to terminate the application.
If I choose ignore, I receive this error message :
16 Bit Windows Subsystem
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM£"|AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose close to terminate the application.

a DOS based system like 98 and earlier. has it worked before
is it an old scanner.0 -
I've had it working before. I have reloaded windows xp since I last used it.
Thing I cant understand is.........the files I downloaded...they are not associated with any program. They have a blank icon with a windows box inside....WO files ???If only everything in life was as reliable...AS ME !!
