Nat West e.savings - A Good Deal

Having been caught up in the Kaupthing Edge debacle and having had my withdrawn savings "lost in the ether" (albeit temporarily,) I have now decided to stick with UK investments.
Accordingly I am investing in this, which looks to be a good deal (for a year at least.)

I have already started the application process and am looking forward to being able to sleep a little easier at night.

I like this account too, but they are a little slow ATM it took NW over a week to open mine and I already bank with them and have an existing esave account so all the details were at hand.
I only mention this in case like me you had to wait a bit and get a bit despondent, I think they are 'snowed under' with applications ATM.0 -
I have one of these but I opened it before the offer, months ago. I checked the T&Cs and it isn't open to existing customers. What a let down. I'm going to Birmingham Midshires instead.0

Will watch this thread with interest.
I've just applied to open this bonus rate e-saver too. I'm not too sure what the consensus is about Nat West's strength is though. I was trying to do some research earlier, but then my back suddenly went .............
It's not been a good week !!0 -
Or there is the Tesco saving account essentially the same as the Nat West one but you don't have to wait up to two months to get the higher interest rate and you could earn clubcard points.

Are you sure about this ? Can you post a link to the relevant T&Cs please ?
Reason I'm asking is I also have an old online account with Nat West - I went through their frequently asked questions, and thought I would qualify but rang them to confirm - the CS said I could still get this account with the bonus ?? So not sure now ...........0 -

With TESCO profits recently reported as 11% up, in these "interesting times" this seems like a good account. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -

This bonus period starts on the last business day of the month after you opened the account – and runs for the next 12 months
I see this as a good thing. I'm in the process of setting up this Nat West account with an initial deposit of £1 just to get it going.
Once the account is up and running I will transfer in the bulk of what I want to save with them the day after the bonus period starts. That way I can take advantage of the full 12 months bonus period.
The money I will be transferring into this account is currently with the Nationwide earning good interest but I need to take some out of that account to bring me below the £50K protection level.
(However I must say I have every confidence in the Nationwide and see them as one of the safest options during these troubled times.)0 -

I've just checked through their faqs and:-
You can have more than 1 e-savings account.
So just open up a new one and transfer the money in to get the bonus interest rate.0 -

It is open to existing customers, even those with an E-Saver account already. I opened a new E-Saver account online with them this week. The account is all ready to go, it was added to my online accounts list via NW OLB the day after I applied.0 -
Taken from the common questions list on the E-Saver Product page:
Can I have more than one e-Savings account?
Yes.0
