It's a scam.
Just delete it.
I get them all the time from banks I don't hold accounts with0 -
Don't push a thing. I'd stake my life savings on it being a phishing scam attempt (if my savings weren't on an all-expenses paid trip across the international financial system, that is). Delete it.0

B & B.0 -
forgot to say have a look at this site http://www.banksafeonline.org.uk/
plus your browser should block any scams keep pc updated and protectionCan't sleep, quit counting sheep and talk directly to the shepherd :cool:0 -
Yep its a scam called Phishing, the scammer sets up a website that looks like the banks website they are pretending to be (in your case Abbey). It will ask you to enter your private banking information, account number, passcode etc, but all it does is send the scammer these details. They then log in to your bank and take all your money! Always delete these emails and never follow any links from an email like this or enter the information they ask for. Your bank will never email you and ask for this information or for any kind identity verification , why would they already have it!0

Thanks again, this is the first time i`ve had one of these. I wouldn`t give any details about my accounts, but I can see how some people would, kind of looks official.0

There is as good as no chance that this is a real email from Abbey. It is bound to be someone trying to get your details. You are doing the right thing by not clicking on it.
Option 1. Delete and ignore.
Option 2. Report to Abbey on 0845 600 4388, as per their website. While this is what they suggest there are so many "phishing" emails these days I'm not sure they'd be particularly interested.
Option 3. Log in to your B&B account - VIA THE NORMAL WAY - and check if that is ok. If it is ok then proceed with option 1 or 2. If not, then contact B&B pdq!
Option 4, of course, is to follow their links, give away all your personal details and expect your bank accounts to be compromised in the future.
I'd suggest options 1-3, not option 4...0 -

Never doubt yourself :-)
The 2 banks I use have never sent me an email in over 10 years and they certainly wouldn't try to contact you this way for important information.
Hit delete like I have to on the 5 or so I get every day ;-)0
