Nat West have always been a bunch of 'Bigheads'
Why did you go there in the first place??Thomson 757 Man0 -
yeah the charge is way over the top for such a small amount, but you dont make it clear whether you feel you made a mistake or not (ie if you didnt plan for the cheque to clear then you must take some responsibility no?)? Not having a go, I just feel its good to be fair
. Either way almost £40 charge is silly - grrrrr! 0 -
i wrote a very polite letter and did say i was to blame but as it was a genuine mistake would they consider a refund , i stated i had not had a bank charge from them since i opened the account 7 years ago.
I have spoken to the bank manager and he did say well its up to you if you wish to change banks, as always they dont care if you go or not,
To be honest it is far to much hassle moveing etc, i have tried them all and they are all the same in my opinion , the best one for a laugh had to be abby i remember the woman there said there was no point to me having an account there as in her words your wages (employee then) come in you leave enough for dd etc then transfer to a saving account in 24 hours what benefit are you to us .
Halifax i just found to be a bunch of numpties i have a basic account there where i pay in too i then use it for my paypall account ,i went there a month ago to pay a few hundred over the counter i had usually paid a cheques in to one of there machines, but as it was cash wanted to do it over the counter the oik behind the counter took my money and then said people with your type of account shouldnt come to the counter you should use the machine WHAT THE HELLS ALL THAT ABOUT?, she said it is in the terms and conditions of a basic account, I said dont worry about it i dont mind conversing with you and letting you have my money i have no reason not to trust you with it,there was a deffinate twitch from her .
Barclays to much queing there, i use to like my N&P sadly abby got involved,
i just hate it how some one takes an over inflated charge from you for and doesn"t honour the dd what was pence ,.Ah well thats life i hope the manager gets shingles on his pecker.0 -

I remember this happening to a close friend of mine who got stung by Natwest. This way way before charges were being challenged in court. They wouldn't refund either!
He ordered everything he could from Natwest including annual reports etc and when he added all the postage up it came to more than £80.00.
He went into see the branch manager and said I told you 'you would pay for this'. So it was friend minus £50 Natwest minus £80 Royal Mail plus £80 and printing company plus about a tenner.
Made him feel a hell of a lot better when he gave them back to the branch. Not suggesting anybody does this. Just telling you a story.

You made a mistake and got stung for it. It costs nothing to have a pre-arranged OD, even if only for £50, to make sure that this sort of thing doesn't happen. Maybe you could put more energy into making arrangements like this, rather than name calling all the banking staff who are just doing their jobs.DFW Nerd 0350

well you clever little bunny dont do debt any more pre arranged or not, being a debt free smart arss, lets face it if i had been in debt to the bank and had another account with them they would have raided it to pay it , but never thought of taking a few pence out of it did they to avoid theiving of there customer,
people like me are bailing out the banks for there mistakes arnt we?they got stung they arnt paying are they,
what i did was a mistake and a mistake of pence they didnt honour the dd and charged me an obscene amount for doing so and are no better than theives in my book .
As for name calling, say what i see realy the STAFF MEMBER at halifax behaved like a pig in my book ah well she will be on the old king cole living of me such is life , Im always a bit sceptical of these type who say you got stung its your fault , lets face it we know what bank staff get up to to avoid charges dont we.0 -

With that type of language the Bank would be better off without you as a customer. I'm not surprised that they didn't refund you.0
